The only grey outs I've ever had are the graphics drivers bugging out and re-starting.

I'm not sure if it's a similar issue or if i should start a new thread on this but i have an issue where if i try to load up another program whilst running eq2 i get a message across the eq2 title bar saying program not responding. This could cause eq2 to lock up for anything from 15seconds to a few mins. Whilst the screen is frozen the 'program not responding' message will flash up and then go, then come upagain and then go but throughout i can hear people in VC. Eventually the EQ screen will grey out although it has recovered several times from that but taken close to 5mins.

I have this problem on my desktop, laptop and even girlfriends laptop and currently guessing that seeing as they are all running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) it is linked to that.

The easiest way for me to trigger this would be to load up ACT whilst running eq2, any help in resolving would be greatly appreciated

Depending on the type of processor you have, or any existing issues with them, it sounds like EQ2 has to wait for its turn to have the CPU handle its load. Did you up the ACT priority by chance? Anything above normal and it can and will cause interruptions which could last less than a second all the way to an indefinite freeze.

What type of CPU do you have and are you loaded up with background applications?

@Costa

While the behavior is similar the cause of the issues are not always the same. For you I would start with updating your video card and sound card drivers which are both outdated.

Nvidia.com has the 266.58 version drivers available. For your sound card you may need to visit your PC or motherboard manufacturer to get the update for those (if available, what you have could be the latest).

I would like everyone who has not already done so to do the same and also run the following update.

[DX9] June 2010

Could this be down to DX11?

If so how do i put DX9 back on?
