Is it possible that there could be a bugging issue with a chracter or an account? Over the past week I have experienced numerous crashes from game, straight to desktop, with no error message.

I have petitioned SOE and provided all info asked for and tried various things suggested. Last night I decided to play the game on my husbands desktop PC, thinking that the crashing problem must be something to do with my computer, however in the space of 2.5 hours I bet I crashed out of game on his PC 7-8 times. One of the things I have tried is a password change, just in case my account had been hacked, but the crashing still happened after this.

A problem with the character itself is entirely possible. But the possibility of file corruption is typically greater. Did your husband and yourself both download and install the game separately or did you copy folders from one computer to the other? In case it is a problem with the character itself, also PM me your Station Name and that characters information (name, lvl, class, race, server)

Just to be thorough, I will include a set of instructions below on clearing out your configurations and cache.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.
