When I hit play the play button turns into playing.

I wait and wait and wait till finally I close the laucher only to find out it's still open in my processes.

I then am in a battle to try to end it, no luck.

Hit restart... everquest2.exe in processes is stopping me from restarting PC.

I come back and try again and play button turns to playing and stays there...

Without going into all my technical info has anyone ever come accross this?

Sorry I jumped the gun, assumed problem fixed but was not.

It seams each time this happens a copy of everquest2.exe is being left behind in my processes.

I think this is why the launcher thinks I'm playing...

Again ... anyone come across this?

It does seem confusing jumping in to the mix now, but they were released at different periods so it wasn't as confusing as we moved along. I'm just glad you are able to get in-game!

Well pooh, I was hoping to find out how to fix this problem. I'm having the same problem, it just being stuck in "play" while I'm stuck looking at my desktop.

I'm glad someone found a way to fix this, but could you share the fix with me pleeeese!

PS, I'm not as computer savy as the original poster, so could I have it in "layman's" terms please

Thank you in advance.

What I bassically did was not really solve the problem but re download the whole game threw the SOE station launcher.

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

(about 13Gigs)

Be warned that although this worked for me, it did not go 100% without having to work around some odd errors.

This launcher is not really supported or the prefered way to get the game by what the officials say on these forums.

Stuck at playing can mean that you were previously playing Eq2, it crashed and you're trying to get back in. The computer was not able to clean out the crashed Eq2 and you're trying to start another one in it's eyes.
