This is a Brand new as of 1/24/11 system.

Before the Velious expansion I was able to play without any issues at extreme quality. Since the expansion I have had severe

graphic issues. Tearing, Flickering of char models, Odd random black specks, Now in order to make it playable at all i have to use extreme performance settings. I have installed DX9.0c from the links that were posted by TSR's. I have tired ever setting possible with no change. I have deleted and reinstalled all the Ui settings and config files, Miles, and Cache. I have spent over 25hundred on this new system just to play this game. I have been a customer Since this game came out and i played the old EQ as well. I expect a intelligent response to my issue Please. I f you need any more info i will be glad to post it for you. Thank You.

Specs=

Window 7 64 bit

Nividia gtx580

Rampage III with a i7 cpu 950 3.07Ghz

6gig ram OCZ Blade

System Information------------------Time of this report: 3/23/2011, 12:58:13 Machine name: ROBERTS-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 08/26/10 17:43:02 Ver: 08.00.15 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Memory: 6144MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 6136MB RAM Page File: 1716MB used, 10552MB available Windows Dir: C:Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode

------------DxDiag Notes------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. Sound Tab 1: No problems found. Sound Tab 2: No problems found. Sound Tab 3: No problems found. Input Tab: No problems found.

--------------------DirectX Debug Levels--------------------Direct3D: 0/4 (retail)DirectDraw: 0/4 (retail)DirectInput: 0/5 (retail)DirectMusic: 0/5 (retail)DirectPlay: 0/9 (retail)DirectSound: 0/5 (retail)DirectShow: 0/6 (retail)

---------------

Which patch method are you using? The multi-game Station Launcher or the streaming EQII specific LaunchPad? From the DXDIAG info it looks like you are all up to date. Was the DirectX 9.0c update you ran dated June 2010 or earlier? I've included links to both the updated LaunchPad and the DX9 update below just in case.

[DX9] June 2010

[EQII] LaunchPad

I use the multi-game Launchpad as I play several soe games other than EQ2 and I used the June 2010 9.0c redistrib installer. Like I said.. It's a brand new system(built on Jan 24 2011) so everything is all new installs and up to date drivers.

If we assume optimal conditions and a fully functional video card, the symptoms seem to point towards corrupted game files.

The multi-game Station Launcher method is not without it's own issues. We have reduced support to the bare minimum when it comes to Station Launcher and we do try to transition our customers to the game specific EQII LaunchPad. While I do not think it is the patch method you use that caused the issue, I do believe that, unless your video card is failing, making the transition should alleviate many issues for you.

The next thing I want to take a look at is your EQ2_recent.ini, I'll try to recreate your specific conditions and see if I can reproduce the issue. If I can we should have a whole, more successful, avenue towards getting a total fix out for it. Please paste your eq2_recent.ini contents here when you have a moment.

additional info and update. I have a full tower w/ 6 case fans - two of which are 120's which blow directly across the video card. I have Coolermaster V8 for a CPU cooler. I just clean installed vs267.59 Nvidia drivers. (As a side note - I know its not my custom UI because it happens even if I delete exe, all my ini files and the custom ui folder.)

Still having problems.

However..
Ok to eliminate that it may be a Station Launcher issue and to make sure I am at optimal support levels, I did a complete uninstall of my EQ2 and my Launchpad. I did a registry sweep and defraged.

Which brings up a seperate but actually much more irritating issue. I have the Cd's for each expansion set, up to Sentinel's Fate. I would think I should of have been able to install that disk, then run the streaming launcher and it would recoginize the fact that I didn't need every single file downloaded. (Unless there is a shortcut that I don't know about) however, that is not the case. The streaming launcher doesnt recognize the files from the CD and the CD itself installs Launchpad(which I don't want now.) Which means I had to uninstall everything AGAIN - then run the streaming Launcher. Which at the current rate will take over 13 hours. That is ridiculous. I can't use my computer for anything else (technically I could but I am taking no chances that anything might be corrupted) and I can't play EQ2 now untill it's done. I am not happy.

I sincerly hope I can get this whole problem resolved soon.

I very much appreciate your help with this and I want to thank you, but please understand that my frustration and irritation levels are really beginning to reach an all time high.

We've reproduced similar behavior but it was through corrupt drivers which seems to be supported by your video card driver reinstall. However, this isn't a closed case and we are continuining to do what we can to identify issues and eliminate them.
