I posted a bug when this happened to me (again) in-game, and have taken some screenshots of what happens.

Whenever I fast travel via the stations in Zek, I come out of it with my mount corrupted and various fauna in the area are corrupt, but that's as bad as it gets...there.

Then I zone out of the area. In this case I took the spire portal to the Enchanted Lands. As you can see, the flora on the ground is floating so high up that you can't see much else, and the tree textures are just...gone. The sky is grainy.

Zek, after fast travel:

After zoning to enchanted lands:

Obviously rebooting fixes this issue, but having to reboot every time...

Anyway, thank you.

Since rebooting fixes the issue temporarily, it does leave me to believe theres an issue in the cache but we'll clear out the configurations too.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

Let's get that cleared up and see if the issue persists first. We should also look in to your drivers and make sure you are using the latest video card driver and directx revisions which I'll cover if this doesn't fix the issue.

Okay. I moved the files out of the directory and restarted the game.

On bare default settings, the texture corruption does not happen. This is on Shader 1.0.

I then moved back to Shader 3.0, which is what I prefer the game in overall. I did not change any other settings. The corruption then reoccurred.

I currently have a GeForce GT 240 NVIDIA card, driver version 266.58 and **(edit)**DirectX at version 11, support for 10.1 (I read it wrong, apologies).

I would also go ahead and update to the latest revision of DirectX 9.0c dated June 2010. This is necessary even if you have DX11.

[DX9] June 2010

Can you PM me your DXDIAG information? I just need the top 3 sections, systemdisplaysound devices.

[EQII] Video walkthrough: Generating dxdiag, msinfo32 and netinfo files

Repeatable on multiple machines with different specs. It isn't my computer's problem. It reliably happens taking the stable master in the orcish wastes on Shader 3.0.

I can't reproduce it. Did you download the game on each machine individually or are you using a copied folder? What server are you on? I'll see if that's what I'm missing to reproduce the issue.

My boyfriend tried it on his machine, which was downloaded separately. We are on Guk. The other system I used I just copied the folders. It only happens on Shader 3.0. I could not reproduce it on Shader 1.0.

Gonna test it out more and I'll get back to this thread.

My boyfriend suggested this so I gave it a shot... I took a higher level character I had and -walked- from stable station to stable station and the texture corruption occurred. We've read other reports that just being in Zek with Shader 3.0 enabled causes it to happen.

I'm reporting it as a bug but still trying to reproduce to see if theres anything we can troubleshoot together to fix it.

This exact bug effects me, it is 100% repeatedable too, and according to this thread (I think it is also in the shader 3.0 thread, and also in the look and feel section) its effecting other people too.

Something about the Zek zone with shader 3.0 enabled really messes up the graphics.

Yeah there are many reported issues with Zek and 3.0, hard to tell right off if this is a new issue or not but I'm still working at it

While Zek causes the corruption I can add that the game remains in a corrupted state whether I log to another character or zone around, only closing down and restarting the game fixes it.

Just a note that I've seen adolf102 has examples of exactly the same problem (and their testing) in this thread

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...498095

Not at this time. I will put in another request as some months have passed since.

Awesome. Thank you for quick reply.

As suggested in other thread quick fix may be to enable switch Shader 3 and 1 on the flight.
I won't mind that much turning it off in Zek if I could od that without rebooting whole game.

I just want to confirm that this bug is still there in zek and has not been fixed yet! Shaders 3.0 plus Zek equals corrupt graphics that gradually get worse and worse over time. Requires a reboot of the game to fix it.

Can we get an update on this? I'm tired of having to restart my game to turn off shader 3.0 just to do anything in zek. The problem isn't isolated there either. If you go to Zek with 3.0 turned on and leave to go to any other zone your graphics just get progressively worse as time goes on forcing you to restart the game anyway.
