I use the launcher for my regular game play and havent had any trouble(knock on wood) I like to decorate Guild Halls and had planned on getting together on the test server to try some new things out but I am unable to connect to the test server through the launcher. I have followed the directions of adding my toon through the /testcopy and got confimation back and did the /testcopy add and it even shows a test copy on my hard drive. BUT when I switch to the test copy version of the game to log on in launcher it acts like it loading then it dumps and says the program has unexplainably shut down. Yes I have tried reinstalling it and the same happends and even tried on a totally different computer.

suggestions?

Which patch method are you using? The multi-game Station Launcher or the EQ2 specific LaunchPad (streaming)?

With the LaunchPad, you simply need to set the region from the LP options to Test and it looks like you did the copy portion right to get your character over.

Hmm well from the sounds of what you asked I would say its the multi game launcher. It has EQ and EQ2 as choices but its the one I was linked to use as the launcher in the past so its the only one I have ever used. It also has in the upper right a place to switch to the test server and that is what I have done. but what I try to log in ~ thats when I get shut down. But yes I beleive its the multi game launcher.

I would suggest updating to our game specific EQ2 LaunchPad. Our support for Station Launcher is limited as we are trying to transition everyone to the EQII LaunchPad. If the test server still does not work then, we'll need to inspect the issue further but updating your Launcher is where I would start.

[EQII] LaunchPad

I have downloaded the game from the link on your reply, and no I did not have this launcher. So I get it all set up the way I had my other UI and game, all is good. No my question is this. How do I get to the test server from this launcher?

I can't seem to find anything anywhere that indicates where I would log into the test server or switch to the test server.

As soon as you log in to the LaunchPad don't click PLAY yet. Instead, click on Options on the top left. You can now change the Region to Test and now your PLAY button will take you there instead. You use that same method to switch back the North American servers or even the EU servers etc...

That's odd. It's at the bottom of the list for me.

Can you scroll down the options window and tell me what it says for Version: Shell: and Plug-in: ?

Perhaps re-installing the LaunchPad will get around this so give that a try too.

[EQII] LaunchPad

I apologize I've been kept away with other projects but I'm here and this issue has not been abandoned. I haven't had any success reproducing the issue but I can clearly see that there is one. When you posted the pic when I asked for it again I did send it off to find a solution to it. I apologize that one has not yet been pushed. Once it does I will update this thread.

I did manage to reproduce this. The full download version of the streaming client for some reason does not have the test server on the drop down. The quick download steaming client does. You should be able to get to the test server by downloading the regular streaming LaunchPad and re-installing it.

[EQII] LaunchPad (pick the streaming option!)

Understood. I was able to connect to the test server via the streaming download ... but with that download it seemed to totally screw up my normally used EQ2 game which I now can't use, so I redownloaded the game from your non- streaming link. I use ProfitUI to play the game ~ well just because I think its 1000x's more functional for the way I play the game. Only I have been unable to install it since installing the streaming EQ2. So I pretty much havent been able to play since then. Yes I have tried the default UI and tried it again, and even again, and really its not even the same game. I do have EverQuest2 installed on another computer that I have not run any of this on so I can still play there. At this point I don't want to even try to get to the test server any more. But I do appreciate you effort. I thank you for that/

Zuzie

The thing to pay attention to is where the streaming LaunchPad installed itself. The current default path for the streaming LaunchPad is "C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II" and you will need to direct the ProfitUI install to that new folder for it to be available.

The updater ProfitUI has should work great for this. I can't really support you with profit beyond that but I can confirm it does absolutely work with the streaming LP.

I'm not certain if this was covered above.

I just installed the non-streaming client last night and it's still missing the test server option. This is still not corrected?

Yes I know this a bit of a Necro but 2 months later and this mostly simple fix/Add STILL is not added? I totally dislike streaming and refuse to use that version of the LP3.

The game just runs worse and feels sluggish thru it, was mostly forced to use it for DoV beta but I refuse to use it for Live/Test play.

I don't have any information on the status of having test added to the Full version of our LP3. I will post it when available.
