Ok. I THOUGHT I was understanding all the changes to crit chance, crit avoidance, stats etc and how they functioned together but today I was looking at my ACT and am pretty confused again.

Ok I will set the stage - My guild is raiding the x2 in Tower of Frozen Shadow. We are killing the first named (hits really hard but not much else.) According to a post in this forums here http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...921 Generally you have to have 170 or higher in TOFS to crit 100% on the mobs in there.

OK here are my stats in raid

Now.. We are killing the first named in there which is Xalgoti - He puts out about 15.8 k dps. He has a buff on him that says he has 120 percent potency and 120 crit bonus if you examine it.

My crit chance is 187% - according to everything I know I should be critting on this fairly well. Even if not 100 percent then it should be a higher number. Not according to my act

Im doing 5136 heals per second which is pretty intense but look at my crit percentages? My overall heal crit is 10%??

If you look at the break down my two main ward spells which are most of my healing are 12% on my group ward and 18% on my single target? When I look at melee crit its much higher.. I just don't understand what I"m looking at here and why my crit percentage is so low.. can anyone help me please?

Does the mob put a crit debuff on you that reduce your crit chance between 60 and 90%? Some encounter do that, i just dont remember if this one did it.

The low crit rate on wards is down to the way they get logged.

Wards determine whether they crit at the time that they are applied , which determines the overall amount that they will be able to absorb. However there is no special message for that will indicate whether a crit has happened.

The wards don't register crits at for each hit absorbed , because at that stage they are just using up the capacity that was determined when the ward was first applied.

The only time wards show up as critting is when their duration runs out , and they provide a heal equal to the unused part of the ward.

Also overall crits for damage or heals will typically be lower than 100% anyway because of all the procs that can never crit.

Wards don't log as crit. Procs do not crit. You can't simply look at a 10,000 foot view and get accurate, informed information. Most likely, your crits are where they should be.
