I have played EQ2 for many years and have enjoyed the game. Rich with content, lot of stuff to do. Part of the reason to play EQ2 is that I used to play EQ1 a long time.

Latest expansion Destiny of Velious is really getting on many peoples nerves with the ungodly amount of bugs and SERVER LAG in the new expansion. Sometimes we cannot progress instances because of bugs. Or do quests because of bugs. I mean are we still on Beta testing or is this a released product ???

Yesteday's bug example:

TOFS: Umbral Halls

We cleared the Darkness Rising (the dark part) part of the zone and after killing that level "final name" the mirror to port us to VhalSera's Dominion should spawn.... but it didn't. Quick question in /gu got a response that "yeah I've seen that twice... its some sort of bug, cant do anything else than try it again tomorrow after you can reset zone." . That made me really mad! I mean if the zones that give us access to later parts of the instances and x2 raid are so bugged that we cannot complete them, why the hell are we even paying for this ?

Server lag:

If you stumble into bugs, well lets try to do something else. Try to progress Tradeskill questline... oh my god, I need to do tradeskilling in Great Divide with the horrible lag that when I press a counter button during tradeskilling it takes 2-3 seconds for it to counter or fail to counter an effect!

NOTE: Also during some raids we got the same amount of SERVER LAG in a RAID ZONE (not in PQ zone)!!! Curing effects was impossible as cures landed 5-10 seconds after pressing button. So healers had to try to compensate by pre-casting and well...you cant guess is the lag 2 seconds, 5 seconds or more this time...

EDIT: Raidzone in question was Kraytoc's Fortress of Rime

When are we going to get rid of the stupid SERVER SIDE LAG that plagues this expansion ?

When are we going to get working instances/zones, so we can progress in our Quests ?

P.S. NO, its not my net connection that is lagging.

P.S.2. NO, its not my computer that is lagging due to graphics load.

P.S.3. Stop blaming user's connection/computer for SERVER SIDE problems!

P.S.4. Get rid of the stupid Public Quests that lag the whole server and put NPC there whom peeps can hail for random drops / faction jewels once a day until you fix the problems. k thanks.

Need to support this post as the lag in Kraytocs fortress (Splitpaw) last night was unplayable and we called our raid 2 hours early as a result. Several players were experiencing 20-30 second lag spikes which means heals and cures could not be provided. Given the neccesity for quick curing in these zones this problem has to be addresed otherwise the game stops here. Interestingly, it did not seem to affect our non-UK based players, only those based in the UK. The same players were always affected and we confirmed that it was with a number of different ISP's so unlikely to be a provider problem. Ventrilo communications for those affected was normal with constant ping rate. The public quest was due to start as the problem began and the problem continued after the PQ commenced untill we called it.

I strongly support this post.

Many times we fight lag more then the actual mob. Healing, curing and aggro (memwipes) generate many failures when lag hits in big. Especially on certain times it seems bad. I excpect correlation with public quests.

If a public quest would not start on every [Removed for Content] instance at the same time, the lag would be less allready. Ofcourse this means some adjustments not being able to participate to a public quest more then is intended.

My server was merged with Splitpaw and honoustly i am starting to get confused how long it takes to to get things fixed. How odd it now seems to get hardware to Amsterdam while the US servers are hardly used during european peek times. Surely the intention was to improve server lag?

/Agree on all points.

I mostly quest, craft and zone, hardly doing any raiding. But even in "casual mode" the lag is at times interfering badly with timed buttonmashing and aggro management etc.
