The Fabled faction charm for mages from rygor is also a copy and paste of legendary items. Compare it to the Chronomancer's Fetish. Isn't fabled supposed to be ...better?

Almost every single piece of gear in the expansion is copy/paste of one another, just with different class requirements.

Simplifying stats on items should have made it easier for them to itemize stuff without making it cookie-cutter and repetitive.

itemization is so broken in this expansion its sad...

not only have tags ( legendary, fabled ) lost more meaning than ever but

the fact that those are scout items and they have riposte on them is even more "FAIL"

I wouldn't call it good even in that case, merely ok. Even if it was good those are still the minority cases. Still much rather dps.

Personally, I'm not all that mad about copying lore equip items, as it lets you essentially equip two of an item if you want or gives you different avenues to getting the same item.

That being said, I think the lack of variety and diversity in gear is absolutely ridiculous. If anything, we should be seeing more tank chain (for rogues), melee priest gear, DPS fighter gear, etc instead of a complete and total lack of any diversity whatsoever. It just smacks of laziness and apathy, especially with how much freedom the changes can give.

You should check out the Thurgadin armor guy who sells legendary and fabled stuff for the new shards. That merchant has two scout belts, with almost identical stats but the other has SLIGHTLY better stats, both belts for the same price. This makes zero sense, why would anyone take the weaker belt when they can get the same one with slightly better stats? Either you must reduce the price off the weaker one or remove the weaker one and put something else on the merchant.

Doing the solo quests on my Conjuror I got 4 times the same symbol/secondary item with the exact same stats, just with a different name. Ring and wrist items where also identical copies, but at least for different slots. In SF you also got the the same item 5-10 times, but at least every time the stats where marginally improved. This time they didn't even bother with that.

Yeah the items guy failed really bad this xpac. We have people leaving the game and just stopped rading due to bored from lack of decent fun gear. I'm thinking leaving to =/.

You used to be able to collect gear and use off-archtype or specialized gear to fill different roles. If a rogue had the right kind of gear and spec, they could tank in a pinch. EOF I remember being able to tank the hardest heroic content(Mistmoore Castle) on my swashbuckler, not because I was overgeared to the point it was trivial, but because I had good tank gear(High mitigation chain Tarinax BP, Vulicadae's Sword of Shielding, etc.).

Likewise, you wouldn't see stuff like http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Jewel_of_Animosity dropping in the current expansion. Stuff that actually had tradeoffs, that say a tank could use to help fill a DPS slot on a raid if there were too little DPS classes or too many tanks that night. Now, it's just linear gear progression.

Oh yeah and procs, which aren't really at all modular. Maybe it'd be something different if you could swap adornments out without losing them.

I guess it's good too for scouts that would want to tank but I don't think the amount that do is really even significant, definatly not worth itemizing for if they won't even make items for melee priests.
