Few things to cover first,

Are you using the multi-game Station Launcher or the EQ2 specific LaunchPad?

Are you launching it, either, as an administrator? (by right-clicking the icon and selecting run as admin)

And finally, what folder do you have the game installed to? (right-click the icon and select open file location)

Same here on 2 computers

new launchpad from http://launch.soe.com/installer/EQ2_Full_setup.exe

fresh installation after release of DoV as administrator

this happens always

Computer 1: GT330, 4 GB, Win7/64 German

Computer 2: GTX8800m, 4 GB, Win7/32 US

Tried with Nvidia drivers from 05/2010 and the lastest drivers

Problem occures with installation in the defaultpath C:/Users/Public... or C:/prgramms/Sony/EQ2

Region: EU_German !!

Any idea how to solve this problem?

We do have dedicated German support so this type of information does not always make it all the way around.

I have the exact same problem since today, played a few days ago fine though, it patched today and I get the pixelShader error and crash. Just the number is different: 00962b96 0096bdec.

I'm using Streaming launcher on the Valor server in german language, have latest DirectX, Nvidia drivers (I run a 7900GS 512MB). Any ideas? That is getting so old, I had problems some weeks ago with that pixelShader message too, nothing fixed it but switching to the streaming launcher.

Ps: I added the line mentioned above, no effect.

I get same problem but with this error message: E:Liveeq2frameworkscenegraphsrcVeapperance.ccp.

I was running from EQ2map updater, but wont run now, so have to play with out map updates

I am getting this error again. I had the same problem with the launch of DoV. Back then adding "cl_resource_address http ://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch/eq2/assets/live/" to my EQ2.ini fixed the problem and everything was running ok till today. Today I am getting this error again and can't log in.

I am using the streaming client.

I run the LaunchPad.exe as admin.

I have it installed to C:Program Files (x86)Everquest

I am playing on Valor

Yesterday EQ2 was running without any issues. Today (no new programs were installed and no patch) I get this error.

This is a known issue since the launch of DoV. It is obvious that the problem isn't caused by players hardware since adding an URL that leads to your patchserver mysteriously fixed this problem. So when will this problem be fixed for good?

After digging through the support forums for a couple hours, I stumbled upon this thread. In this thread people suggested to delete the file eq2_recipe_filter.vdl in the Everquest II root directory. This is what I did. My game works again. The patcher also doesn't redownload the file, so it is porbably not needed.
