View Full Version : Possibly a wild brainstorm for Commision Crafting woes

I am going on my 2nd month of trying to complete my Tradeskill Epic (and have begun work on the Shawl) and after seeing that I am not the only person out there with difficulty completeing the tradeskill quests that require commision crafted items...I have a wild brainstorm idea and would like to hear other's input.

Maybe it's not too wild, but I am not sure how easy it would be to implement. In another thread, someone mentioned the idea of crafting in a BG instance with a portable crafting station...

What if there was an instance you could go to in Norath, click on the door, and enter a crafting specific, cross-server zone. Within the zone, you could have items commisioned and vice versa.

However, to keep the instance Tradeskill specific, you would have to have completed, or currently be working on, any quest that requires commision crafting. If those specific things do not apply to your toon, then you may not enter the zone.

This would be utterly helpfull for those of us who seem to run into walls in regards to completing these quests (Lack of capable people on our servers that can, or are willing, to help. Not having time to max out other toons because of RL...and probably for many other reasons too).

I'm not looking for easy-mode at all, I just thought that since the mechanics are there for BGs...why not for certain aspect of Tradeskill? I would love to be able to help those that needed it, and I would appreciate any help given to me in the same manner.

Maybe it's a long shot...

It is a neat idea. It would probably make obtaining the epic earring easier. Although my provy on Vox only needed 2 or 2.5 days to get all 9 of his earring parts this month. One part was crafted by an alt of mine.

I would send a tell like this at least 2 hours apart:

"Looking for master sage, armoror or woodworker for epic earring parts, proof of pudding. I have all materials and can pay 1 plat or more per part. Please send tell."

Maybe I sent that tell, or one like it, about 12 times total.

I ended up paying 7 plat total, not realizing until it was too late that my provy could make his own part. So, I could have reduced that to 6 plat. One person declined payment. Nobody asked for more than 1 plat per part. I did not ask for the dust.

After somebody made a part for me I said thank you and something like this:

"If you know any master woodworkers please let them know I am looking for one."

I now know a group of people I can call on in the future.

I mention that my provy is on Vox because I have often heard people complain that the Vox server has a very low population. It may not have the lowest population. I do not know.

Not just for the Epic, but the Shawl quest in DoV, too. I am sure there are other quests out there that require commision crafting, but I am not sure. I can't even remember how many /shouts and good_crafting tells I've sent asking for help...even when I would pass another player in a zone that was a Master whatever, I would send a /tell and not even get a response of 'no'.

For the epic, my armorer made her part. As for the other two pieces I have gotten so far - I paid 3 plat for one, and the other was for no-monetary charge (just love notes for their unicorn) LOL. I have like paying well for help...if I could just find it LOL

I could be wrong, but it just seems so much easier on the PvE servers...If it wasn't for my husband and friends insisting, I probably would have, and should have, rolled on a blue server instead of Nag. /sad crafter

I rolled an alt on AB (lvl 10), and I am constantly running by Master TSer after Master TSer.

I imagine it will be a long time in coming/developing if something like this was to ever get off the ground, but for casual players like myself (and other's as well) I imagine it would be a welcome addition. (lol I am often wrong though)

This would not work on Nagafen server as we do not have access to cross-server chat or tells and cannot even add people from other servers to our f/lists

I felt like a stalker getting the Shawl done. I parked myself in Thur crafting area over the weekend and shot tells to the appropriate classes as they rolled in :/ It was effective though, much more so than looking in chanel and I met some really nice crafters.

I like your idea because as time gets on it's going to be harder and harder to get updates as more and more people finish the quests.

For those encountering difficulty in finding Epic/Shawl updates on the Bazaar server, try /who all Immortalis.

We have all classes available, and are glad to commission updates for your character if you're willing to visit our guild hall.
