Rage: This quest for Iceshard keep didn't update properly -- we watched the entire conversation and then the mobs wandered away but the quest did not update past the "watch without getting caught" step.

Prince: There doesn't seem to be any way to distract the guards. We ended up just killing him and his guards, but rather disappointing that this quest is gating like that.

I can confirm both. Just finished the zone, and we had precisely the same issues with the same two quests in there.

I'm looking at these. I didn't implement them so I have to do a little reverse engineering, but I'll get a fix in as soon as possible.

Just wanted to let you know that we're aware, and will be addressing the issue.

But I've been told that you can distract the guards by knocking over the statue in the trophy room. But, it doesn't work after the mobs in the trophy room are dead.

We've experienced the same issue with rage, we completed the prince quest however as distracting the guards with the statue does work if you dont touch any of the mobs in the room, however to get the quest to that point you have to move dangerously close to the pathers, if you aren't carefuly you'd probably pull agro. Rage against the war machine didn't update either, can't tell if we need to be reeeal close to the two NPCs, or just inside the room, but thanks to the pathers it isn't at all safe to be just inside the room, and standing as close as we could didn't update it for us.

Okay, so the prince quest does update properly. I think the main issue here is that the quest isn't properly explained that there is a fail condition, and what steps you need to take to avoid that.

Both of the quests actually seem to suffer from that same issue - I'm going to reword them and see if that helps you as the players understand the conditions of the quest better (both through wording and possibly messaging), which hopefully will solve the issues without having to restructure how they work.

We sat inside the hallway without pulling any mobs at all from within the main room and didn't get an update -- we certainly didn't get "caught" by anything. Is it an issue of not being within that room and having to somehow avoid the roamers at the same time? If that's the case, then the conversation shouldn't start until you're in that room the quest should point that out. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you can sit in the hallway with no aggro and hear them talk and not have "overheard" the conversation

A Prince Among Kromzeks was the worse of the two in terms of things not making a lot of sense. There's nothing in the quest that directs you to the right room, for example. So people just kill the mobs, pull the named and go "Huh wonder why this quest doesn't work." Probably the most annoying thing is that this one seems to gate you from getting quests for the next KD zone.

So after failing on both quests 3 seperate times on 3 different characters I have come to these conclusions.

The dev who created this zone is a bit short on logic.

The dev responding to this thread does not yet understand the depth of the problem.

Running the zone 3 times in slow PUG's and getting blocked on the both updates all 3 times for stupid reasons is exceedingly frustrating.

Oh ya, here are the problems, as I understand them, after having it explained to me how you actually get the updates.

Rage Against the War Machine.

The conversation is triggered and heard from quite a long ways back from where you have to be to get the update. As the quest makes ominious hints about not getting caught, you do not feel linclined to get closer once you start hearing the conversation. Hence you always fail, because the update point is quite a bit closer. This is wrong, if you can hear the conversation, you should get the update.

A Prince Among Kromzeks

Before you can topple the statue to distract the guards, you have to enter the room with the guards. You can't really be expected to enter the room without first pulling out some of the guards and killing them. This quest pretty much requires you to run the zone twice, which makes absolutetly no sense as you are intended to distract and then kill the prince.

You SHOULD be able to knock over the statue with just the prince and his 2 privates up. Both of these quests suck. I've also run the zone 3 times, and I'll probably never do it again.
