I would like to point you devs to this. http://lorelibrary.com/?page=book&bid=177

Quote, from the Norrathian Code of Trade Standards, a clickable book in every city library:

"The Starpyre Calendar Days of the Week:

The days of the week got their name through the work between the academy think tank and the local trade organization.

....

Day 9. BREWDAY: With most exports gone the only work left involves a local business. Much of this day involves work related to preparation of Feastday."

Brewday is a day of the week. So, shouldn't we call this festival Brell's Day? He invented ale, after all.

There seems to be an issue with the portals in Commons and Gorowyn. I went to Commons first and the portal was invisible. It was there and worked fine if you knew where to mouse over to see the tooltip, but the portal itself was not showing. I zoned out of the bar to Gorowyn and found the portal invisble there too. Went off and checked Antonica, Halas and Kelethin - all of those were fine. Checked Commons and Gorowyn again and still nothing. The Commons one finally showed up for me when I ran all the way from Darklight entrance to check it, rather than just zoning out from the nearest gate. Checked Gorowyn again after that by bouncing through the bar and still nothing. I went upstairs, did a bunch of banking, then came back down and the portal was finally visible. Sooo, seems like visibility on those 2 is a function of time in zone before they load up the sparklies? I've never had this issue with either in previous years.

I have no idea what the issue is Tkia, with the portals being viewable sometimes and sometimes not. it's all the same object. We had the same issue crop up during Frostfell this last year, too. I ended up having to change out the portal art, despite the fact that it's worked fine in all of the years previous.

~Kaitheel

Running round some more they had been appearing fine on both toons I was using until I zoned out of the bar to Gorowyn and found that one gone again. And it's still gone having come back via the bell.

If I can figure out the pattern I'll let you know ...

For Thurgadin Ice Brew:

Tetda Rockstein says to wrestle with her... I killed her extremely easily, resulting in a corpse on the ground which despawned a minute later. This seems to go a bit beyond a wrestling challenge, is she supposed to "yield" and reset at zero, or are we really supposed to kill her? When I returned shortly afterwards she had respawned.

Love where the Ice Brew put me.. in a cog in Steamfont.

Now... with the greatest of respect (because I really like your quests in general Kaitheel!), I have to be honest at this point and say how much I loathe "mystery" quests in EQ2. Why? Well I'm certainly not averse to a bit of a search or thinking about something, don't get me wrong. But I'm a relatively new player, and despite levelling one character to 90 through a variety of zones that does not give me the knowledge of ALL the zones in the game that you need to do these kinds of quests. There is simply too much content in the game to expect newer players to have experienced all the zones in their first year, or even two.

It is not fun to be forced to look up locations on a wiki or ask others for the answers ingame, because you don't have a fighting chance of working it out or finding something you've never heard of amongst the vast amount of content areas in EQ2. And it's not friendly to newer players at all, because these kinds of clues are totally dependant on the player knowing about the location already.

Making heritage and signature quests this way is bad enough, but this is supposed to be a fun, holiday event. Please, at least give the name of the zone to narrow it down. Just saying "in Antonica" gives enough of a clue to go looking for a lighthouse somewhere in the zone. I'm all for a search... if you give me some real direction as to where to start!

And yes, I know I'll probably get flamed by the vets for giving this feedback, but I've sat on this issue long enough. This has happened to me again and again since I started. I've been playing for maybe 9 months now, Antonica is not one of the zones I've quested in, and I didn't know the lighthouse existed. It just makes you feel like these quests aren't meant for you.

On the recipes for the distilleries, one of them asks for a small thurgadin distillery, we can't craft that, so where do we get that from.

Also the portals appear to be a flat surface, so I can only see them from the flat side, and have to be very close before they appear. I'm running High quality graphics by the way.

Another point is that the avatar only appears when you get quite close to the area he's roaming in, he is definitely not visible from most of the fields.

One other point, emerald clover is rather rare on the harvesting.

Other than the above, a very enjoyable experience for my first Brewday.

It was used in only a few recipes last year. One of them was the brewday backpack.

Don't know if it's related to Brewday as such, but might effect a lot of players.

I collected the shield in SS, and heading to Moors for armour. Took the airship. However on zoning to Moors, my char disappeared. Had to camp to get her back.

This has now happened on 3 different chars, and on the last char, the ship nearly left me behind in midair, had to run back onto the ship.

Just ran a char from SS to Moors on dropship, the only Brewday quest she has is the Beers for Brell one.

Straight after zoning, my char disappeared, but her undead knight still was there.

So could be Brewday related , but not new quest related.

I did bug it, so hopefully will be fixed before Brewday goes live.

Have to ask why, why not have a crafting recipes for clothes like pink/green outfit similar to the ones that Frostfeel have for the girls who like pink for this event?

and while your at please add recipes for the outfit/cloak the Erollis npc has that exchanges for coins?

I know it's to late to add in it in time for this, but how about adding them in for exsisting recipes? just an idea

I liked the new quest and the crafting part is awesome.

I would like to second the request from Soresja even if I had no troubles finding the zone: as you (SoE) saw fit to disable Qeynos and Freeport as starting cities, players who started playing after New Halas have absolutely no reasons to go questing in Antonica and Commonlands and so, knowing that you'll find gnolls and a lighthouse in Antonica is not something very easy for them.

The special ingredients used for crafting the distilleries are found in :1/ the new quest in Bar of Brell2/ Tradeskill faction merchant in Qeynos, Freeport and Thurgadin3/ Tradeskill faction merchant in Kelethin, Halas, Neriak and Gorowyn

mmmh, you may have upped a bit too much the number of hit point of Tetda. My 46 necro is a bit undergeared but with master spells and I went oom while she was only at 50%. It was a very hard fight.

EDIT: ok, I tried it with a well geared 31 touba and got killed pretty fast (she didn't get under 80%). This mob is wayyyy too hard now or not scaling properly at all.

Do you want to tell me that you need to push out a hotfix just in order to correct any dates on the calendar? If this is true then how can the calendar ever be used for things such as guide events as it was advertised by Smokejumper.

When it was coded into the calendar to appear on ALL servers, and be translated for any international ones, too, then it must be edited via file.

~Kaitheel

The Brewmeister's Backpack is a crafted item (artisan level 2 I think). You get the blueprint for it from the quest "Beers for Brell".
