I get that it can apparently be forged into weapons in armor and is some sort of mineral, but here's the thing.

Is it magical ice or metal? Both? Or is Velium simply a magical mineral that you use to imbue metals such as Brellium with?

It's a mineral with translucent Ice-like physical properties, only it can be forged and manipulated to create durable and magic-enhanced armor and weapons, among many other things.

When Veeshan struck Norrath with her claws to mark the planet as the domain of her brood; she ran her claws through Velious, creating the "Scars", deep valleys that were in fact gouges in the continent where her claws raked through the land.

Much of the ice and bedrock of Velious was magically enchanted by contact with Veeshan, creating the material known as Velium, essentially unmeltable magic ice that requires special techniques/enchanments to work and forge into other items. So not all of Velious is made of Velium, but there is a massive supply of it centered in that continent which all residents have mined to use for weapons, armor and other materials.

My theory is that it is Pressure ice, rather then Frozen ice. but with a magical binding added to it. Probably brought here by Veeshan after she passed by a planet that had the stuff.

Yeah, Sorry Zabjade, but the origin and explanation of Velium is actually in the lore of the game. Homeskillet summed it up.

It doesn't toataly negate my point, Magic Ice can still be pressure Ice, Those claws could induce a lot of pressure while charging them magicaly.

I don't even know what pressure ice is or the implcations. One thing that does occure to me is that "pressure ice" would probably weigh significantly more than ice. Velium isn't known for being heavy. If it was a super dense material you might use it for weapons, but you definately wouldn't use it to make everything like the Coldain do.

It's a form of Solid water created by Pressure rather then temperature, I think it's real name is Ice 7 or something. Although the Thurgadin use Cold Forging to make the stuff.

I just like the idea of drawing parallels is all.
