Recent issue - like the last 6 days or so, and I suspect it's DoV related, but recently I've noticed multiple instances of EverQuest2.exe being left behind after I've logged out/closed the game. Worst case was yesterday when I logged out to do something else on my comp only to find it running really slow. Task Manager showed up 6 instances of the .exe running each hogging around 1.2 meg of memory - I have 12meg on my rig. I logged in a few chars yesterday using the /camp [to charname] command and it's almost as if the game (or windows) is loading a new instance for each characted I logged into. I've done repeated full file scans, no missing or corrupt files.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64, its fully patched - including win7 SP1 - maybe that's the problem . Anyone else seen similar behaviour ? It's no big deal as long as I remember to delete the rouge instances.

Hey folks,

Could we get a little more info from you regarding your system specs (DXDiag and MSinfo would be extremely helpful in looking at this further and to see if we can determine a commonality between users)?

If this is an old issue resurfaced, we can postulate, but your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what to tell you other than /camp desktop results in an everquest2.exe running at about 20% ram usage of a normal client.

We're also interested in how you're getting into game (which launcher/portal).

if it makes you guys feel better, I've never had problems logging into the Antonica Guild halls, my guild hall specifically for one of my toons, but since the expansion, I have had to petition 2 times to get them unstuck because loading the guild hall caps out over 2M of memory at about 60% complete loading entity resources... never had a problem in the years the Antonican guild hall has been out, except after expansion.

I have the DXdiag and MSInfo, but uncompressed MSINFO is 2.4Meg. I've zipped these up getting the file size to 128K, unfortunately the forum wont let me attach the file. Can you PM me with an email so that I can send.

I launch the game via the EverQuest II (US English) desktop shortcut - which is a link to the LaunchPad.exe.

When I quit the game, there's an EverQuest2.exe still running, and I can NOT kill it via Windows Task Manager - and it's taking up quite a bit of memory. No wonder my computer runs like crap after I play EQ2.

I just checked and have no hanging processes here. I use right click desktop shortcut, run as admin, which opens eq2.exe.

I think I am having same. I also noticed when I log in via launcher, I see 2 windows loading, one smaller then the other. And when I zone, the picture of where I am zoning from is under, like a water mark, the screen that is loading. I was thinking it was my computer but maybe not.

Also experienceing multiple crashes again. When I log back in it's like I am fighting with the curser, I call it floating curser. When I get this I have to do a full comp shut down. This seems to clear it up.I am running XP.This is a log from last crash, not sure it's the right one to post but maybe it wil tell you something.

03-04-11 00:12:43.781 3148 Error Connection::Read Disconnected: this=0x303-04-11 00:12:44.125 3148 Warning Service::CleanupDeadConnections Cleaning up dead connection: (*i)=0x303-04-11 00:12:44.234 3148 Warning Service::ShutdownSDK Service Initiated Shutdown: this=0x15e2fc403-04-11 00:12:49.531 3148 Error Service::ShutdownSDK Shutdown failed to complete: this=0x15e2fc403-04-11 00:17:21.421 3136 Error Service::Run this=0x15e2fc4,e->ToString()=C:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1src vivox.systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 3003Internal ErrorC:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1srcvivox. systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 1004803-04-11 01:10:57.171 3828 Error Connection::Read Disconnected: this=0x303-04-11 01:10:57.250 3828 Warning Service::CleanupDeadConnections Cleaning up dead connection: (*i)=0x303-04-11 01:10:57.281 3828 Warning Service::ShutdownSDK Service Initiated Shutdown: this=0x15e2fc403-04-11 01:15:02.984 2164 Error Service::Run this=0x15e2fc4,e->ToString()=C:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1src vivox.systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 3003Internal ErrorC:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1srcvivox. systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 1004803-04-11 01:15:05.671 380 Error Service::Run this=0x15e2fc4,e->ToString()=C:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1src vivox.systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 3003Internal ErrorC:srcbuildtoolsbranchesvoontmpvkchm1srcvivox. systemtcpsocket.cpp(256) : VivoxSystem::TcpSocket::TcpSocket - error 1004803-04-11 01:17:58.937 3096 Error Connection::Read Disconnected: this=0x303-04-11 01:17:58.968 3096 Warning Service::CleanupDeadConnections Cleaning up dead connection: (*i)=0x303-04-11 01:17:58.968 3096 Warning Service::ShutdownSDK Service Initiated Shutdown: this=0x15e2fc403-04-11 02:09:50.859 3140 Error Connection::Read Disconnected: this=0x303-04-11 02:09:51.093 3140 Warning Service::CleanupDeadConnections Cleaning up dead connection: (*i)=0x303-04-11 02:09:51.171 3140 Warning Service::ShutdownSDK Service Initiated Shutdown: this=0x15e2fc4

I haven't noticed if multiple instances are running because I usually turn the system off right after play BUT just the last few days when I try to close windows it doesnt immediately close but the waiting dialog comes up and after a bit I see the message "closing screenshot manager" I don't run any screenshot utilities other than Fraps and not at all lately. It may be completely unrelated and just coincidence but a big coincidence. Running windows 7 64bit on a high end system with geforce card 460. I'll see if it does this when I haven't run eq2 since boot.

Not having this issue on either computer. Both Win7 x64 XP1, one has 6GB of Ram and nVidia GTX260, the other 12GB and ATI radeon 5870. I am logging in via launchpad.

Added info: There's no residual EverQuest2.exe left running when I launch the game via the Station Launcher instead of LaunchPad.
