View Full Version : Velious Launcher Stuck in "Checking" Loop

The Destiny of Velious launcher/patcher gets stuck in a "Checking" loop. If I let it go for a while, it sometimes will finally launch the game, or sometimes not. If it does work, it's usually about a ten minute wait (minimum). If I click "Cancel Check" then click "Play", the checking process starts over. I'm running Windows Vista and have checked the "Run as administrator" check box for both the EQII shortcut and the actual LaunchPad.exe file.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I did not see others mentioning this problem. Thanks!

Where is the game installed? You can right-click the EQ2 icon and select Open File Location.

My Station Launcher is doing the same thing I had to run everquest2.exe directly to get into game tonight but it doesn't appear that a GM is going to respond to our petition for a bugged door in Kraytoc's fortress of Rime anyway.

My game is installed of the D: drive, are you asking where it is installed because someone hardcoded a C: into something???

Our suggestion would be to make the transition to our LaunchPad for Everquest 2 which you can download below. I would suggest installing it to your existing EQ2 folder, but if you are intending to return to Station Launcher, make a copy first as this install will update and change files that you cannot revert back to the Station Launcher used formats.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Thank you for replying. I was having the problem with the Launch Pad/Patcher that was installed with DoV. Last night I installed the Station Launcher v.1.1.9 and that works like a charm. No problems at all (so far.)

Just to keep track... The game is installed on an external drive which is public. Station Launcher was installed on the C: drive. I guess since it works now using the Station Launcher, my problem is solved. Still should be looked at though considering others are having problems with the DoV launcher.

Thanks!

It should be able to locate your previous install. You can make sure of it by getting your current path beforehand. Right-click your current EQ2 icon and select Properties. The target field contains your current path. Jot that down and make sure when installing the current EQ2 LaunchPad that you specify the path you recorded as the install path.
