My dog is doing less than 200 dps as a raid geared shaman. I believe it is using STR instead of our stat, WIS. While the dog isnt meant to do 20k dps, as it stands now it is near worthless for soloing.

Isn't the wolf supposed to be a fighter class anyway? I know the AA choice that gives 3 buff choices with the pet choice gives str/sta as the buff to the wolf.

Regardless of whether that's true, for the summoner pets, no matter whether you were using your fighter, mage, or scout pet, for stat sharing it used the summoner's primary stat, int. They should treat the dog similarly, along with all other pets.

Put the dog in the mob's back and it works a lot better.

My dog was doing 200 dps. I highly doubt putting the dog on a mobs back is going to increase the damage ten fold, especially when I have been told that in beta the dog was doing 10-20k dps.

I will stick it on a training dummy and see what it does.

I just noticed this issue today! Dogdog is hitting pathetically weaker than it did before Velious. With the new expansion, I was expecting a pet boosts (since the pet should now scale with you as you obtain better equipment)--It appears that the exact opposite is true!! Dogdog is impotent at the moment and needs to be checked out by the Developers.

You were told. You didn't experience it yourself, and have no frame of reference upon which to base your observations of a difference.

The numbers I am seeing from my dog are significantly improved from pre-DOV mechanics. I've seen what it does in early DoV raiding. It's nothing near 10 or 20k, but that's ok.

What I can tell you is that even a WELL geared Conjuror, with 270 AA and a pet absolutely designed to do damage is only seeing 8 - 12k damage from their pet alone (/pet attack) on a training dummy.

It is entirely possible there is a problem, however, saying that your dog is broken because it isn't doing 20k doesn't help. Log some stuff. Go back to old logs and find some answers. Post it.

I promise, developers respond REALLY well when you post logs demonstrating an unintended difference between two situations.

If the dog was doing even half that damage then it would be really broken.

Even so, that's besides the point. I am seeing 200 dps from my dog on trash mobs. My dog did 800-900 dps BEFORE the expac came out on RAID mobs in a heal spec.

There is no way they should be doing anywhere near that much damage. Anyways, 200dps is still rather low, they should really be doing at least 1k.

Dog should be at least around 2 K in offensive stance and with ancient predator. During SF, on raid trash my mystic was somewhere in the 10-15000, dog doing 20% of the mystic damage does not seems to me crazy.

I'm not experiencing this problem at all. I haven't parsed my pet individually but he is hitting often between 7-18k when he attacks so its well over 200 dps. Your crit chance probably sucks or something.

Here are the actual problems with the dog presently:

1. The dog has, for some reason, been changed from crushing to piercing damage. I have no idea why.

2. Haste does not appear to have any effect on the dog. Changing my Haste from 16 to 51, then letting dogdog kill a training dummy did not change his auto attack delay.

3. Increases in piercing and crushing skill do not have any effect on the dog. Increasing my skills by 90 yielded at a statistically insignificant change in hit rate, from 89.66 to 89.69 percent.

It's 2 and 3 that concern me. In these cases, things that affect us are clearly not being properly passed on to the dog. This goes directly against the concept of shared stats that was sold as part of Destiny of Velious. The fact that these two things have no effect throws into doubt whether ANY of our stats are affecting the dog.

These factors lead me to question the reasons behind the recent change to the dogs auto attack rate. It appears to be about EIGHT seconds of delay right now!

I don't know what the dog's base delay is but I get about 4.5s delay on raids. It most definitely uses our crit chance and crit bonus. I suspect that it is also using our DPS/Haste.

It is not using our multi-attack stat. Is that an oversight?

That's because the dog is taking GROUP haste, but it is not taking MY haste.
