I know there have been numerous threads on the issue in the past, however I seemed unable to find a definitive answer on the probability of future overhaul of EQ2 outdated and laggy graphic engine and true multi-core processor support. I like the game itself, but while I can play newest games at 40-60 fps in 3d vision on my rig, EQ2 performance is just horrible. I suspended my subscription undefinitely while I am still trying to understand how SOE intends to proceed with the game in the future - dishing out new content based on old engine with minor tweaks (like shaders 3.0 etc, which btw added little imho and did not improve performance one little bit) and dedicate development efforts on EQ Next, or there is some chance EQ2 will get an overhaul? Many older games saw amazing upgrades - take for example Gothic 3 with latest community patch, or even Morrowind overhaul project - and these were accomplished by enthusiasts, not by professionals like I am sure SOE employs...

So if someone knows the answer, please share with us - is there a chance the game engine with be subject to review in the future?

Rgds and thanks in advance

Having said that, we are also making sure not to break older zones which makes this task quite a bit more complex. We are starting to make progress though but it will not be an overnight fix unfortunately.

Please be a bit more patient.

Thanks, Alex
