Well it definately has something to do with Tim Deep. 2 Characters there, and they can only log in maybe once per 7 trys. But my other characters work fine.

Run an asset scan from your LaunchPad. It may identify issues with your files.

Log in to the LaunchPad, don't click play yet, instead click Options on the top left and select Scan.

I am also havign this problem. camped to desktop in mok rent and now it hangs at 'updating environment map' and crashes to my desktop. I have tried updating the map files (deleted them and redownloaded), my ini/ui files and cache folder, changing all my video settings to low...I can't get in. I was reading another forum post in this issue and the only way people have been getting around it is to have a GM move them....this happens to me 100% of the time.

Which files did you delete?

Does your game folder have an Asset_Cache or PAKS folder? (which one?)

Typically deleting the timorous deep VPK files from the PAKS folder could resolve this but if you are on an older patcher I would recommend making the transition to our latest LP3.

(If coming from Station Launcher, I would suggest downloading the FULL version linked below and directing it to re-use your current EQII folder)

[EQII] LaunchPad

I'm also having the problem logging into TD but only with my DE character in Mok Rent. Could this be related to the graphics issue/problems with DEs? I am able to log into TD with another toon.

Scanning did nothing. Clearing cache through launcher did nothing. I don't have a PAKS folder in my EQ2 root. I do have assetcache but only assetcache1-7 .vdb files. No TD.vdb file that I can find. I have no idea what making the transition to the latest LP3 is.

So I downloaded the full installer, ran it and pointed it to my existing EQ2 folder. Still no go. So I logged on with my toon that could log into TD and flew it to Mok Rent and logged out. Guess what? I can't log into that toon now. Stuck at the "Updating Environment Map".

The streaming version (with the asset_cache folder) and our full launchpad are essentially the same versions (LP3) with different file structures.

Unfortunately you cant go to the full version from streaming, it will redownload the game files individually in a PAKS folder, and it may mess up your links and how the LP works.

We are looking in to your character directly to research a cause and solution for this issue.

Just to add another data point, in case this is an on-going issue. I am having the same issue, though my circumstances may be a bit different.

Got a new graphics card. Went from an NVIDIA 8600GT to an ATI HD6750. Upped the graphics settings to full before zoning in (on a side note: YAY! ) and got stuck at the same point.

Running the launchpad file scan now.

It's a bit out of date, an updated revision may be helpful giving people a general idea of what could go wrong at each stage.
