Hello, I am having an issue with the public quest timers. Everytime I get close to the area that offers the public quest I get the quest but my timer always says zero. So I have no way of knowing when the event/quest is going to start. On my husbands computer the timers are showing up just fine.

I thought maybe this was a ui issue. I was using a few ui pieces (not an enitre ui) so I have gone in nad remove all the custome ui pieces. I even removed the eq2ini file so it would re-create the default when I logged back in, to make sure everything was back to the default.

I am still having the issue with the timers though. I am not sure if it is simply just a bug and nothing on my part or I I need to change some setting I have. It just seems very odd that the timers do not work on my computer but they do on my husbands.

I am sorry if this is alredy being discussed in another thread. I have searched several times to try and find information on these topics but either I cannot find it - or I have overlooked it.

Thanks so much for any help.

I apologize if the following directions repeat anything you have already done, but let's just cover the entire process here first.

Additionally, if you have already backed up/removed your custom UI's, you can entirely rule out a default UI issue by deleting the UI folder to have the game download fresh files.

You may also want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

I went in and made backup copies and then deleted everything you listed. Still it did not fix the issue. I am not sure what is causing it .

I have notices that I have this same timer issue with tradeskill rush order writs as well.

I should also say that it does not always happen. Sometimes my timers seem to work fine - just like they are suppose to. In the course of a single day they may work properly once then not again for the rest of the day.

It does seem that it is not an issue on your end. I have reported it and hopefully I can provide an update once I've received it as well. When that happens I'll post it right here.

I was reading the other thread linked above asn wanted to add a bit more. My timers are still not fixed . There will actually work from time to time, but for the majority they are either blank or say 0.

Yesterday I went in and completely unistalled my game and reinstalled it. Since logging back in after the reinstall it is still not working.

My computer is new - purchased in Feb 2011. The only thing that I can really think that might be effecting the game is that the new system came with windows 7 - not vista or xp.

Could windows 7 somehow be causeing these issues?

Also have hall the strange graphics issues as in this thread http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=497110

Also reinstalling the game has not fixed them either
