I wasnt sure where to put this post so I appologise if its in the wrong category.

Can we please have the ability to turn the illusion on the cloud of bats vampire mount off? Since I paid $$ for the mount I'd like to be able to use it, but the illusion of swirling bats litterally makes me nauseous within the space of 5 minutes (what ever the reason for that is I don't know but it happens every time). Since purchasing the mount I have been able to turn off the illusion and so still use it but unfortunately that no longer works - neither does the 'do not render mounts' option under the main options.

Or alternatively could we please have the option to use another mount as an appearance over the top of it as we have previously been able to do but also no longer works

unfortunately that no longer works.. neither does not rendering mounts. The vamp mount seems to be classed as neither illusion or mount in those regards

I agree, since the change I have had to switch to a different ground mount because the bat swarm doesn't even dispel in combat anymore either, makes for some really boring fights. Make it hideable again please.

Was one way for a good while then changed in a way that is very dissapointing.

The bats swarm is bugged or something. Like, if a mount it put in the appearance slot and the bats are hit (found this, thinking I could switch from mount to bats running around in South Freeport) and I wound up with a swarm of bats riding the mount.

As it stands now, outside of the advantage they have to those high enough level to fly, there is no reason to have them now. They seem like an overpriced broken illusion or a non-premium Station Cash mount. Until I (if ever) get to level 86 or whatever it is to to get the quest for bat swarm flight then I suppose I might get some value from the swarm of bats.

Really disapointed in the way they wound up.

I'm fairly certain this will NEVER happen, since the Cloud of Bat's is a flying mount per se. You can't just have your toon running fast in mid air, as SOE as already stated multiple times. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I asked about this here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=496587 and the answer was "Hiding the cloud of bats illusion was not intended and as such was removed." I think it had something to do with PvP but I'm not sure.

They could simply add a flag to it so that it's always shown when flying, option to hide when running. I'm not playing my Freeblood if it stays this way, and I'm not happy that I wasted the money. I hate the look also, don't care if my Freeblood character never flies, but I'd like the option to choose, please.

Or they could give a second option for Freeblood with the same speed boost that is a grounded "mount" that lets you just run fast without an illusion of bats. They gave two combat looks, give 2 mount looks. Not everyone wants to fly, or look and sound like a cheesy horror flick.

If this was not intended, it should have been clearly announced or pulled from the market instead of those who purchased the Swarm of Bat accessory suddenly finding them changed into what they are now.

If this was an item that was part of the game and not charged for with real cash, I could care less what they do with them. However, since it is an item that requires real money to purchase, I think in the future they should know for sure what type of product they are selling via SC before introducing it to the Marketplace.

This whole thing is just bad business and something that is making me personaly a little leary about trusting SOE's virtual marketplace and most definently will impact future purchases (if any) from me.

Thanks for sharing.

The real issue here , is that we paid for and were given one thing, and it was changed to something much less interesting.

Fights in bat form are dull to watch. You can't tell which way you are facing, for one thing!

plus...why are there sparkles?

I no longer use my cloud of bats mount - its just not playable or enjoyable that way. I really regret buying them now (I bought 3) & wish there was some way I could send them back for a refund since they have changed so much from what I actually purchased and liked.

At least add the option to hide it from yourself in 1st person mode.

There is one other glitch I noticed with COB.

If you click on COB while mounted on something else, you have to dismount first. However you can mount something else without disabling COB first.

I know this topic is old and probably not worth the time reading or posting but, ....

I too am very disappointed. We paid Extra CASH, out of our pocket, and got LESS. The look, as stated by others, makes me want to sick-up; and the screeching sound is also annoying.

While my lower level Tradeskillers can get a flying mount at level 86 in TS, we can't get the quest until Experience level 86. My lvl 25 will have a griff way before she gets the quest for the annoying cloud of bats. My lvl 90 sage completed her quest and uses the griff so she won't annoy others.

You'd think with a new breed we'd get something different that we don't have to pay Extra for. If we're bats then at least give us Bat Wings that work the same way the mounts do and the quest level lowered to give us incentive. Yes, the marketplace SELLS the LOOK of bat wings that look as if they were purchased at the second hand store. We're a new race and so far ... a very disappointing one.

Just a suggestion for Sony to mull over:

LoN has a nice looking set of Bat Wings that you can get, if your lucky enough to get AFTER you Purchase the deck, that look very nice. Can't you somehow convert those into our flying mount? One that goes into our Mount tab so that we can choose What we want, When we want? After all, we've already Paid Extra for, so far, nothing.
