Maybe it's a not-so-subtle way to drive Everfrost traffic to the forums every day...

Sitting (again) with my 4 out of 6 characters (again) waiting for EF to come back up (again)...

Funny thing is the server is still showing up on server status page, its like they are trying to hide that it is down again, like we won't notice.

Unlike yesterday, the server is showing as "up" on the network status page, so I'm guessing it's the login servers or whatever hardware handles zoning and such. 2 guildmates crashed while zoning, and then, though I dreaded it, I had to zone as well. Sat for 5 minutes, only to get popped back to the zone I was in previously. When I tried to zone again, waited another 5 minutes and then the server booted me. Now I can't log back in (characters missing screen, blah blah). I'm terribly patient and understanding with this sort of thing, since it's reasonably complicated stuff, but still, if the same thing keeps happening at about the same time every night (peak play time pretty much), maybe that suggests a load issue? Hardware upgrade? Better software q/a? Why did we merge again? =P

I doubt anyone is surprised by this, if they are I can't imagine why.

Getting pretty [Removed for Content] tired of it.

And yes mudpup it is a load issue it reared it's ugly head when the servers were merged only difference is the wave subsided quicker. That is not happening with th ex-pac. The solution the other day to throttle the logins by turning access to the login server on and off until things stablized was a duct tape solution. Nothing has been done beyond that and it appears that the next step is to see just how many people they can get to quit the game in utter disgust or transfer to another server. From what I've heard this m.o. isn't working out to well for the AB server.

The sad part of this is the devs, TSR's and techs are taking a lot of additional heat for this garbage which honestly isn't their fault, nor can they openly admit what the issue is, they can not just snap their fingers and get new hardware. However, the people that could make such decisions at SOE obviously don't care and are too gutless to come on here and explain their stance.

I'm about tired of ranting about it, seems it is pointless anyway.

Wonder if any of the folks at Sony have noticed yet that the EF hamsters have gone missing again...

Lots of threads on this. Let's keep all feedback to one place so the team has an easier time reading it all:

Everfrost Crashed
