I am also getting the same error trying to update after reinstalling and updating last night, for the first time in about 6 months. From what I can see there was a patch released yesterday (the 25th)?

This forum post is so far all I've seen or heard about this and if anyone has suggestions for how to fix it I'd be stoked. I hate paying for a subscription I can't use.

~Skaoi~

You can delete the entire LP_Temp folder and allow it to re-download the files. If that does not work, the only other suggestion I can provide is to make the transition to the current EQ2 LaunchPad.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Thanks, I'll give that a go. I've been launching from the latest version of the Station Launcher because my disc copy of EQ was from The Shadow Odyssey and wouldn't launch any more. Will report back on the LP_Temp folder fix.

EDIT: LP_Temp deletion didn't help at all, unfortunately. Pretty devastated that the only way to fix it is to download another bleeding 12GB. If I had known, I wouldn't have paid my sub until I'd downloaded that, but I'm not sure if there's any way for you there at Sony to let people know in advance.

Thanks anyway, will check back in case there's other suggestions.

what worked for me was copying this file from the ID_temp folder and putting it in the UI folder then I ran launcher as administrator, had to then do the same thing for eq2ui_global_marketplace file

Yeah, deleting lp_temp doesn't work for me either - it partially restores that directory - then you get the same error message or something similar - maybe on a different file. Sleepymike, I couldn't find the ID_temp folder and try your fix - where is that located?

Reinstalling from scratch doesn't work either - I've tried a couple of times. You go through the whole download, and at the very end it checks the manifest files again, and *then* you get the error. Weird. I believe the update actually finishes by the time you get the error - the problem is you then have to go into your EQ2 folder (or whatever you call it - defaults to Everquest2 I think) and run Everquest2.exe directly. It's not the best workaround, but it does seem to work - at least for me.

EDIT: OK, I didn't realize that the Station Launcher was old news and that SOE is encouraging you to use the new Launchpad - one for each SOE game you have (EQ, EQ2, EQ2 FTP, etc). For some silly reason, I that the Station Launcher *was* the new way of doing things - one Launcher to rule them all! For those who want to mess around with getting the Station Launcher to work, here is a link I found which may have a solution for you:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=495774

I haven't tried the solution so I can't speak for it working or not - I'm going to try the EQ2 Launchpad and see if that works for me. Good luck!
