Greetings,

I DO know that i should roll with whatever i like the most & feels right, but MY KNOWLEDGE about the classes in EQ2 is really limited, and most any information that i could find online about the classes are either;

1-Inadequate

2-Outdated

Thats why im asking here.

I want to create a Freeblood character, and i would like to be able to;

1-wear heavy armor

2-cast spells such as lightning, fireballs etc,

Essentially a (an evil) HYBRID class

I would like to ask if anybody here has any suggestions?

-My only guess would be the Shadow Knight but i do not have any other clues otherwise.

Thank you.

There is no battlemage in EQ2

Caster-melee hybrids in plate armor are Shadowknight and Inquisitor. Or maybe their counterparts Paladin and Templer. The Templer has not much melee though.

SK is quite solo friendly but you ll have to tank in groups. Inquis is very solo fiendly and a healer in groups.

Conjurer is the one with the fireballs but wears cloth. Hes tough though, because he has a pet to tank for him. He is dps and lately a bit of utility in groups. Necro is his counterpart, but has not much of fireballs , rather poison and pestilence.

Thank you for the suggestion. The inquisitor, along with the Shadow Knight both seem to be able to wear heavy armor as well as having some magic. Whats more, they both appear to be rather solo friendly so i guess ill choose one or the other in the end. Now my options are narrowed to two.

Cheers.

I will mention that there are several appearance armors that have the look of plate, so if you want a wizard nuking with fireballs, you can get a plate appearance.

-The appearance armors that have been mentioned.....

Is it like i can create a warlock and put some in-game plate armor on them to make it seem like my caster is wearing heavy armor,,

or is it more like the only way to acquire such heavy armor for a sorcerer class is by buying it off the station store?

-And does any1 know which class is the biggest area-of-effect nuker in the game? Wizard or Warlock maybe`?

(Mass magic destruction in plate sound unique to me )

My lock wears it and I got to admit she looks pretty cool in it

There is also a couple of reward (plate) sets for achievments (one is DoF the other is umm KoS I think) but they wouldn't be avail until you reached around lvl 60-70.

Wizzie or warlock for aoe .... the answer should be warlock but it's getting that wizzies are just as effective now in aoe.

I have one of each and I have to admit I prefer playing my lock so maybe roll one of each and see which one appeals to you the most.

Happy hunting
