I played this game for a very show time about 4 years ago. I just reactivated with the 3 day pass. I can't seem to find any of my old characters. I can search for them on the website and they are listed, but when I logged into EQ2 it made me create a new character and I can't see any of my old ones...

I played this game for a month or so back in 2007 and just decided to try it again. I reactivated with the 3 days pass and can't figure out how to play my original characters. I downloaded the game fine, but when I log in it wants me to create new characters. I know they exist, because I can look them up on the EQ2 website. How do I access them?

Must use the same account as previously or they won't be there.

I am using the same account. Same station account anyways, that appears to be the only way to reactivate anything...

Are you in the right zone?

If you created your characters in Euro but are logged into US (or vice-versa), then you won't see them. Try changing the zone, I think it's on the EULA screen (I'm at work and can't look).

Make sure that you are loading the correct Game client. It auto detects the client for your area. It shoudl be on the upper corner of your launch pad. Do you happen to remember the server that you were on?

I merged your 2 posts together to avoid confusion

I found them. It appears that MY station account was used for Vanguard, and my sister's EQ2 account was the one I had used before for EQ2.

Now I just need to decide if I really want to play or not. Seems like there is a lot of naysayers on the boards. Especially for someone starting new. My highest character was only 22, and he's on Nagafen. I heard that server is dead for newbies.

Duo with a friend? Group up (here is where a guild is handy) most times? Quest or grind? These and many more questions will influence where you go with class selection and gameplay. Most of all, HAVE FUN.

I'll be playing solo all of the time. I might find a guild or get lucky and get a group, but I'm not expecting it.

I REALLY like pvp in games, but if it's real weak or there aren't many lower levels to fight, it seems like it would be pointless. I've been running around on my Nagafen character, and the only people I've seen are either 90, or I can't attack them. Is there a pvp flag? I thought it was open pvp...

I like melee classes best usually. I've played stealthers in other MMOs, simply because I pvp solo a lot. Now if I'm playing PVE only, then anything would probably be fine. I'm not a fan of healing or tanking though. Always been a DPSer at heart.
