The servers did come down for a patch this morning. It is common to have missing characters when you try to load the game during a patch. be sure to relaunch the game when the servers are up

It seems to be doign it again. Gotta say its really starting to make my 360 look good again.

Well, I have currently the same issue on Antonia Bayle (when I select a character on the station launcher).

When I look on www.everquest2.com it says that AB in online. Yet, when I go to the ingame character selection I see just 4 characters and it tells me "Offline server (Down)".

I came home early to play a bit.....

(ps. And my computer is turned off when I am not home)

The servers are down for a patch currently. Once they are up and you have relaunched the game, if you are still missing characters, I would not hesitate to contact Account Support.

ok good to know. As I said in original post it did not show in the update notes that servers were down for patch, there was a listing of 4 servers that were down and EF was not one of them, so I was concerned we were having the "launch day" issue again...

granddaughter gave me her vest and some patches to sew on before her daisy scout meeting sunday so this is a good time to get it done =)

You would think that server status could at least tell you if the server were up or not wouldn't you :}

*edit* Actually it is kind of LoL funny that I even look there. It does after all still tell me that Nektulos is up and running and Nektulos doesn't even exist anymore. If it can't tell me reliably what servers even exist, how can it possibly tell me if a server is ready!! Silly ME!!!!

Well as a Guk customer, we're in the same boat.

Just as Tuesday, they promise 9am on release day and it turns out to be 1pm. Today they said 1 hour patch, and now we're coming up on 2 hours. So IMHO I expect the servers to be back up in 2 hours, approx 11am.

Just a double check though, this IS about patches and not the same old that happened on Tuesday with Everfrost and Character Select?

Eh, these days I expect ...not much. Keeps the aspirations under control. Everfrost will continue to be ever lost. I just bring a good book and box of popcorn. That way if the pyrotechnics that inevitably happen on the tech boards aren't that entertaining, I can read while I wait for the server repairs.

It be what it be.

SOE will claim that today's screwup was something different then what happened on Tuesday. That was a "CDN" issue which translates to a data center for load balancing. They also claimed they weren't at fault per Smoke's reply to my message.

The issue is however that once again there was no communication from anybody on extended time for today's patch, they promise one time but deliver another, and if they actually do reply, then it's the canned response "we're having technical issues, we're aware of it,and we'll get back to you." That's not communication, we want to know what actually happened, what specifically they are doing to fix it, give us a real ETA, and continue to update that communication. It goes back to my reply to Smoke on Tuesday. SOE never thinks about their customers. It will always come down to proving to the customer base that they are important, and SOE just doesn't understand this.

ok so NOW the website does show the servers locked .. still no realistic ETA listed. and still showing Servers on the list that no longer exist ( o how i wish Kithcor was still up so some of the new neigbors could go home )

How bout some real answers ?? show us that Miracles do happen

Todays issue is the same as Tuesdays, which was the same as when they merged Everfrost and Blackburrow the character select behaved the exact same way. It was responded to in away much akin to an ostrich burying it's head in the sand, when the load got lightened enough due to people giving up in disgust it started working again and was probably never pursued any further. To fix it this last time (Tuesday) they would permit access to the login servers for a few minutes then shut them down again until the load subsided. The issue of load has not been addressed it has had a little duct tape slapped on it, some high 5's tossed around the office, a zone disabled so it could not be finished due to an exploit that iirc was pointed out in beta but went unaddressed.

It isn't going to go away, until enough people have finally gotten on to see a little and enough finally give up in total disgust that the servers can once again handle the load that was put on them.
