New install using Station Launcher, the huge download went fine but now stuck in a loop with this error:

There was a problem confirming the size of the file C:UsersPublicEverquest2lp_tempUIDefaulteq2ui_globa l_marketplace.xml.

Any ideas?

You can delete that file to prompt a re-download. Make sure you are launching it as an admin by right clicking the icon you use and selecting Run as Admin.

The only other advice I can offer is moving to our EQ2 LaunchPad

[EQII] LaunchPad

Station Launcher support is limited as we are transitioning customers to LaunchPad 3 which is our recommended method of connecting to EQ2. You do not have to switch, but it is what I must recommend.

Well I refuse to use your "new" streaming launcher. Aside from other issues with it, your new format Launcher doesn't let me box multiple accounts without downloading multiple sets of game files (another new 13GB for each account I want to box) because of the way each client locks the assets. So again, I ask, please address the issue I am having with the Station Launcher instead of trying to push me onto that new launcher.

Again, you can delete the file, or the entire LP_temp folder, and if it does not improve the situation the only thing I can recommend is what you just refused. There is nothing more that I can do for Station Launcher at this time. We are phasing it out and support is very limited.

OK, found a temporary workaround for people having this issue:

The station launcher fails at a file because of a file size mismatch between the remote manifest on the server and the file it downloaded from the server. This issue is something at SOE's end and not your own fault. As a workaround, you can do the following:

1) Make a note of which file the Station Launcher failed at and go to that file location in the lp_temp directory (this is the directory that the Station Launcher temporarily downloads the files to, before extracting them, verifying them and moving them to the appropriate location).

2) Unzip that file. It has a ".gz" file extension and I used winrar to extract it, but I'm sure the free 7zip or most other archive programs can handle it too.

3) Move that file you just extracted (from the lp_temp directory) to the appropriate location in your everquest 2 directory. In the case of these UI files, it will be to /UI/Default/

4) Rerun the Station Launcher

5) Repeat the process at each file the Station Launcher fails at.

In my case this was 3 files (all UI files): eq2ui_global_marketplace.xml, eq2ui_mainhud_tutorial.xml, and eq2ui_popup_racechange.xml.

Hope this helps anyone else with the issue, until SOE actually resolves it. If some changes force Station Launcher to run a full file scan at a point before they fix the remote manifest, you will probably have to run through this process again.

I will attempt the manual install.

For TSR info, I did a clean download install and that part fails. The error is definatly in your checksystem. I downloaded the latest launcher and installed the entire game using it. Please look into fixing the problem for future downloads.

Your "fix" is part of the problem, not the solution.

The reality is Station Launcher is where the issue lies. Our support is limited for it and we are transitioning people to our EQ2 LaunchPad. We are not supporting the old Station Launcher directly.

Trying the old launcher (eq2.exe) and it seems to be downloading stuff. I'll know if I have to just hang it up and give up in < 5 minutes...

It's pretty much damning that you guys feel the need to upgrade the launcher over and over again when the old launchers work better than the crap you keep pushing on people.

EDIT: Worked. If you get this issue, delete the lp_temp folder... Exit the Station Launcher, go to the EQ2 folder, and run EQ2.EXE. It will patch. When it's done you can then use the Station launcher to launch EQ2.

Your new launcher steals my harddrive space. I had 40 gigs when I started using it. I downloaded the whole 14 gigs before i started playing and one day the Launcher randomly starting downloading the entire game again. The next day it did it again. It also misplaced this harddrive space and the only way I could get it back was to delete everquest 2 again. Maybe when you fix that I will use that luancher

@Tiernu

EQ2 Maps and ProfitUI work just fine with the LaunchPad and aren't considered 3rd party programs. They are UI mods, which we allow and encourage. I would like to know where you received that information, could you PM me?

You have been pm'd.

Now tell me, since they are supposed to be working fine with this new launcher how come I can't see mine after I reinstalled even to make sure there were no corrupt files. I can't use either profit or eq2 maps.

Waiting with bated breath.....................

My guess would be that your Station Launcher was installed to your ProgramData folder while the new LaunchPad installed to UserPublic. You simply need to move, or re-install, your custom UI mods to the new location.

I really do. I'm really suprised that you had to figure this out yourself, rather than it being resolved by the support who probably knows much more about the files than you do.

I would like to ask why the new launcher is being pushed so hard and why you cannot even attempt to help people having issues with the old one. Your new launcher simply causes way to many issues for it to be a good replacement. For example I had to use the old launcher to play, because your wonderful new streaming system caused me to get literally 0.5 FPS at times with the lowest settings possible. Now, after switching to the old launcher and actually having the game on my hard drive I get 40+ FPS at all times with almost maximum settings.

Same issue with a different file. But I am unable to figure out how to dig through the spaghetti that is the coding to fix this. I guess I'm offline until my next day off -- seeing that technical support is difficult to get into and the phone line is closed by the time I get home.
