When I try to launch eq2 I get this message:

EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

<verify> E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp (9832):m_pPixelShader 0098b458

A while back I had some viruses on my computer. I took it to a local shop and he got the viuses off but flash player didn't work anymore. I took it back and he got it to work with firefox but he couldn't figure out how to get it to work with Internet Explorer or eq2. I tried various forums here and elsewhere with no luck. I even went to adode and they couldn't help me.

So I used the factory restore disk that came with my computer. Before I did that I copied my eq2 files to an external drive. Afterwards I copied them to a new folder in the windows directory.

Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz processor

80 PLUS-rated power supply

2 ATI Radeon HD5770 GPUs

12GB DDR3 memory

Optical audio out

1TB storage

Logged in, went to Sinking Sands, went to Velious... EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. E:liveeq2gameclientsrcGameScene.cpp (5102): Failed to create zone. Suggestion: Please do a full scan from the patcher. 004ffa29 18535220 ... erm I don't have an E:. Has someone left a hard-coded path in there somewhere?! I love patch-day (never)

I'm having a similar issue trying to get into my new Summer Home. Here's a screenshot of the error:

Again note the path to the file. Again, I dont have an E: drive, unless its trying to find something on a DVD. As a result, I now have a character trapped in limbo until CS can get him out.

Don't mess around with your PC, this is not your issue, its a launcher issue.

Seems a lot of us are getting this exact same issue.

Nice to know it isn't just me. But I wish a dev would help us out. Oh well, it's only 5 am in California. Maybe in a few more hours.

E:liveeq2gameclientsrcGameScene.cpp is the location of the file on their build machine. It has nothing to do with your box. The error clearly tells them in which file and line they should look on *their* box.

I was usung the EQII Launch Pad, but swapping back to the Station Launcher allowed my client to update correctly and this seems to have solved it for me. Try that and see if it helps.

I am playing on Splitpaw. I am using Launchpad as we are now supposed to do. First tries logging on, the gameworld was a black screen. Minimap, buff icons, iconbars, EQ2 buttons were displaying correctly though. Re-starting the game, I now only get this error message (shown from verify.log):

"SOEBuild=7347L" version="SOEVersionString=2011/2/18 14:37:11" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="<None>" loc=" 0.00 0.00 0.00" performance="3" verify="E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp(9823): m_shaderParams.m_pPixelShader 00962116 0096b36c"

I deleted eq2_recent.ini, eq2_default.ini, EverQuest2.exe, eq2.ini and character specific files, still getting same error now after hitting the 'play' button.

Running Windows XP MCE, Ati Radeon X 1300 Pro gfx-card. I saw in the 'Top Issues List and Troubleshooting Guide' that there are problems with Ati cards, but mine wasn't listed.

I am looking forward to a speedy solution, I really want to play.

Which launcher are you all using? Station Launcher (multi-game) or the EQ2 specific LaunchPad?

I've reported the issue with GReat Divide and Eastern Wastes which seems to be affecting many players at this time. If I get more information to post I will do so right here.

look if you have a eq2.ini. If so open it, if not create one and paste this line into it:

cl_resource_address http: / / eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch/eq2/assets/live/

(delete the spaces betwen the url -> : / /)

that fixed it for me an several others.
