Launcher issues?

<p>Hey there.</p><p>My server (Splitpaw) is now up and running, yet i still cannot connect. The station launcher simply repeats the same "The update has failed." error message every time it tries to scan for updates.</p><p>I did swap it to US English earlier today to download the patch because of this issue, but it is now switched back to EU english and the same issue is occuring, even though the server is now up and there is nothing to patch.</p><p>I tried launching the game via the EQ2.exe file but this old patcher fails when the it tries to open "Launchpad.exe" and displays an error asking me to download the Station launcher, viscious cycle.</p><p>I then tried to launch the game through the "Everquest2" application file in the EQ2 directory, this came up with the ingame login, user name and password entered, target server as Splitpaw, but then takes me to my US character select? When i enter my Character in the target character field it simply says "Splitpaw could not be found" then locks on "Trying log in server 1..". Even though the Server is up.</p><p>Hopefully i can get some help resolving this and help out people with a similar issue.</p>

<p>Sorry been in the office for about 20 minutes!</p><p>These are known issues for the day and are being worked on as the top priority for our EQ2 team.  I will update everyone once I have more information.  For the time being, give our streaming Eq2 LaunchPad a shot and/or continue to try to update.</p><p><a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2" target="_blank">[EQII] LaunchPad</a></p>

<p>Just tried that after seeing it in another post bud, gets to the log in then asks for an activation code, the velious one doesn't cut it, and i can't even remember where i put my original EQ2 Box. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Back on trying the original launcher.. it's taking forever, how my guildies got online. no clue what to do.</p>

<p>I'm using the original launcher as well, and I'm getting Download cancelled too. If this issue isn't resolved by the time I'm off work then I will be cancelling my subscription. I didn't spend $42 for a hard copy just to download 13GB of stuff that's ALREADY on my drive. Fix the original launcher!!!</p>

<p>it is quiet annoying,yesterday i thought ok,happens but getting the *update cancelled* message still first thing today p.... me off, got confirmation i got the expac via mail,cash gone out of the bank x2 cause my husband has the same and same for lots of other players..... and what have i got... nothing,sorry SOE but that is not one of your better perfermances<img src="/eq2/images/smilies/136dd33cba83140c7ce38db096d05aed.gif" border="0" /> if i treat customers like that i have to expect them being annoyed at the least</p>

<p>I've always used the old patcher since launch - until Velious, when I got the same 'Update Cancelled' message as others have reported on here. So I've tried the new launch pad ... and that wants to download 13GB of a game that was last patched two days ago.</p><p>I'm disappointed with the SOE reply on here - maybe a little refresher in Customer Services is in order. There is no need to climb on your high horse. We get issues with patching EVERY SINGLE TIME an expansion comes out. And this latest one seems to top them all. If it was the first, it might almost be forgivable, but Sony - how many of these have you done now? Can you remember the last one that went smoothly? </rant></p><p>So anyway, I have the day off work today (not specifically for Velious - I never usually try playing for 2 days after expansion launch to avoid this type of frustration)... a day I am going to be waiting for 13GB to download, before I can play without crashing - even using the launch pad. I shouldn't have to download 13GB, and hope it's not going to cap out my braodband (the excellent Rift beta was 7GB this month too <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" /> )</p>

<p>just went in via my steam acc,my settings are f... up but mount and vamp are there,so not perfect but might be an option even though....laggy as hell,must be the vamp getting styled:/</p>

<p>I downloaded the update via station launcher - but only the us area works with this atm.</p><p>UK will get an error - so it looks like it is not the application itself but something in the uk/euro data.</p><p>Well, since i was not able to connect Splitpaw via station launcher, and i REFUSE to ever use streaming ( which the famous EQ2 team tried to force in the beta also - we had no official regular client all beta) - i tried the old launch pad.</p><p>The trick was to run it as an administrator.</p><p>Just right click the EQ2.exe icon and choose this option. If it wants to download 12gig  or so then copy the files in your game folder except the region_en_us ( something like this, to lazy to look it up but you will find it easily) folder and put them in your region_en_us folder ( which is the place where the old launchpad wants to have the files).</p><p>Then you can update ( if not done already) and login.</p>
