I claimed it on my freeblood so that I could see what it looked like. I was under the impression that it was considered a "second home". Is this not the case? It packed up all my stuff and moved it in there. Why would I want to move from my freeblood house to a one room house? That makes no sense. So is this an either or thing?

The scroll is basically a deed saying you can buy the thing. You examine the scroll and it flags that character to be able to purchase, the scroll poofs and you can then go to where ever the house is located and buy it when you choose to do so.

I almost did the same thing, but the box that pops up tells you that you will lose your current home.

Yep, the scrolls for that kind of housing entitles you to purchase it. You can move out and come back and buy it again since it flags your character as being able to purchase that house.

Myself, I have been (im)patiently waiting for the housing improvements to be implemented before I even claim the deed.

...but if I can claim it and examine it to flag my characters for the house without having to actually "buy" the house, I may do that just to get the deed out of my claim rewards window. I have no desire to lose my characters' current houses.

The summer home is disappointing. I fully expected a lavish home some where in Everfrost and to AT LEAST have an outside area like city housing or the 7-year vet reward. Where would they put this area? Who cares...pick a spot. Don't entice me with a summer home in a Collector's Edition and it just be a copy of a Miragul's zone with only 4-rooms, no basement, no upstairs and no balcony. It is in dire need of a complete make-over. I think they expected someone to attempt to leave the house through the ceiling...case-in-point; Me. However, it's a complete dome, no exit through the room in the main room...making it ever-so smaller.

At least I no longer have to look at the eye-melting purple and green walls that is a Neriak home...that's a plus right? Doing something with your house is for those times you're bored, you've partied all night the night before, you're raid and quest exhausted and you don't feel like dealing with your significant other...this small space hampers that.

Edit: Moving items in there is also awkward, it's never in the middle of your screen when you 'place' it. Trying to bring it into view is a weird process of elimination, so you place it anywhere (it was out of your view when you placed it, good luck finding it) out of frustration.

Boy am I glad I read this thread, I was going to get the secondary home too, I put WAY to much work in my main house for it to pack out like that. And I would prefer it be the main house still.

Thankyou for the heads up, sorry it happened to you OP

I've yet to even go look at the house, I was excited about it until I started reading everyones descriptions. Oh well, I'll keep my main house and use that for storage if nothing else. I also am waiting to claim it until we get multiple houses.
