The DoV Update Notes State:

In order to further offset the loss of spell resistance that was formerly gained from wisdom, a caster-only spell resistance component has been added to the following buffs:

Mages: Magi’s Shielding

Assassin: Villainy

Berserker: Aggressive Defense

Bruiser: Bob and Weave

Defiler: Sinister Countenance

Dirge: Death’s Door

Fury: Peerless Predator

Guardian: Iron Will

Inquisitor: Sacred Armor

Monk: Inner Calm

Mystic: Ursine Avatar

Paladin: Blessing of the Paladin

Ranger: Hunter’s Instinct

Shadowknight: Innoruuk’s Caress

Swashbuckler: Bladeweaver

Templar: Holy Armor

Troubador: Daelis’ Dance of Blades

Warden: Warden of the Forest

From Beta, this was ~2.2k (at master level) resist added to the self buffs for each class in the game. However, this is only contains 23 of the 24 classes. For some innane reason, Brigands are the only class in the game that aren't receiving the same buff that everyone else is!This was pointed out and bugged in beta for over 1.5 weeks without a single word in reason/justification/its a bug. I was hoping that in the week since they shut down Beta they would actually spend the time wisely and fix reported bugs, but apparently not.

So, I asked in Beta and the Devs ignored it.So now I'm asking in Live. Why are Brigands the only class in the game that doesn't get this addition to their self buff? What is the possible justification for giving it to 23 classes, and not Brigs?

Or are you just going to keep ignoring this here as well.

I am guessing that you need to find a buff that the Brigand has that gave +Wis and then you would have more of an argument of then they should get the +resists. I dont know if all of the classes listed above have the +Wis but i am sure most do. Also the way they decided how much was not just every one get 2.2k but it was based on how much +Wis there was and how much that would be giving to resists.

What Geothe said is pretty much the reason. Wisdom being tied into the buffs has nothing to do with whether a class had resists added to one of their self buffs as the Ranger Hunter's instinct only ever gave agility. That being said, I have no idea why they wouldn't also add resists to one of the brigand's self buffs at least.

We'll have to see if this was fixed and just missed in the Patch Notes (it's happened before), but my guess is it probably was not.

The only justifications I can see for this are:

Pure and plain oversight, regrettable but fixable once the priority fires are out (and I'm guessing there are going to be larger issues, there are always are)

The Dev who made the change saw the Enhance Street Smarts AA resist increase and assumed they were native, not "paid" for. This would be incredibly annoying since as I understand from beta the AA gives about half the resist increase this new "buffing of self buffs" gives and that should have been noticed even if the fact it was AA given was not.

They Dev who made the change saw the AA increase and decided we couldn't have both but hasn't fixed the AA yet so they didn't want to add it to the buff yet. This would be typical of SoE communication, especially that seen in Beta.

I'm hoping the first is the case, but I have a sneaking suspision it's number two or three. Regardless this needs to be fixed. We should not have to pay AA to get half or even all the benefit that 23 other classes are getting for free. And under no circumstances should we have to wait for Game Update 60 for this to be addressed.

If it is, in fact, option #3 that is a complete and utter BS justification. Why should Brigands have to invest AA points to get what every other class in the entire game gets for free. Its the same thing with Brigands compared to other DPS scouts when it comes to percentage based deagro abilities.Assassins, Rangers, and Swashbucklers get percentage based Deagro for free, only Brigands MUST invest AA points to acquire a percentage based deagro (both in the old KoS tree.. which is useless in everything else) and in the new Heroic tree.

This xpac will probably be the same as all the rest, Beef up all other dps classes, but ignore the brigand class all together.

Brigands are already OP, hence no buff. We can't have them be insanely OP, can we?

Brigands are the least played class for a reason. This is just another. With this expansion we fall futher behind. The changes we got dont come close to filling the gap with other dps/utility classes. Now that the exp is out we have no chance to get any love for a long time. Maybe now is good time to call it.

Bards utility scouts. Brigands and swashies are the scout hybrids like brawlers for fighter classes, summoners for mages, and druids for healers. Hybrid classes should not parse as well as the "pure" dps classes so not sure why brigs and swashies would want to other then for the "glory" of seeing their names on top of the parse, lol.

The lack of deaggros is a pain though that summoners and brawlers dont have (fd is a good deaggro for brawlers, lol) and druids are too gimped to worry about drawing hate usually unless its a fury which is getting plenty of deaggro from mage group buffs.

Then again, havent seen a good dps parse (probably cause I havent been looking at them lately) of brigands/swashies compared to other hybrid classes. If equally geared and skilled and the brigs/swashies are being out dpsed by a big margin by the summoners, druids, and brawlers, you need a bump up in that department for sure.

Its a shame that my brig didnt get a self magic resist buff like the other classes. Hope its just an oversite.

Regardless this needs to be addressed. I pulled up my Ranger last night and confirmed that he had it on his self buff and that the ammount given was just a bit over two times what my brig has through 5 AA.

And let all rejoice, for the dev's have spoken. Well actually no one spoke, but non-trauma mitigation was added to Street Smarts.
