I have problems with missing ground textures in Shader 3.0. When I turn that shader off it chages back and everything works as intended. I have no real idea why this is, I did some searches on the Tech forum and could not find anything that was like this.

EDIT: Figured I'd add the specs for quick browsing.

AMD Phenom II X4 970 CPU @ 3.9 ghz

ATI Radeon HD 5870 1gb

4gigs of DDR3

Windows 7 64Bit

DxDiag linked at the bottom.

This is how it looks with the shader 3.0 option checked:

This is my DXDIAG

Oh my. I just posted this myself in the performance section. I'm having the same problem. I guess I'm going to have to switch back to Shader 1.0. Sadly, it just doesn't look as pretty.

Update: Moved my post over here, so its all in one spot. Also updated to include my DxDiag as well. Hopefully someone can figure this one out.

So, for the first time ever I am in the New Halas starting zone area with a (relatively) new Alienware PC and suddenly I realize as I'm getting to the main land (you know, after finishing up the little starter island) that there is no textures.

What the heck is going on? Does anyone else have this issue? I provided screenshots below and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why I can't see the ground.

If you need any further info, just let me know.

System Specs:

ATI Radeon HD 5870 (1GB)

Intel Core i7 920 @2.67GHz

6GB RAM

Windows 7 - 64Bit

DxDiag

3rd Party Mods:

EQ2Maps

Screenshots:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.../EQ2_000003.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...Q2_000001-1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...Q2_000000-1.jpg

Good to know I am not alone, and we have the same GPU. maybe there could be some issues with the HD 5870. Sadly, I have no other GPU to try, just sold my old one.

It's a [Removed for Content] shame cause the game looks so much better in Shader 3.0, and for the first time since launch I can actually run it at maximum xP except I cant!

I mean, I had everything on max with no problems anywhere else in the game that I've been (on other characters) and then here I am in New Halas and boom, problem, problem, and uh... problem!

From going through the forums though, it looks like there have been a lot of problems with New Halas and the textures. Not just like ours which are simply just... gone. But also, some of the buildings for people on 8800GT's have been turning black and furniture is turning white!

I wonder if there is some fix though (aside from Shaders 1.0). Makes me sad.

Seems like there is no help to get what so ever on this subject... I guess the Erollis zone is exceptionally buggy for everyone at the moment. Can't really expect prefferential treatment, but a wink and a nod(I'd settle for a wink or a nod infact) that someone has recognized the issue would be great, just so that me and Ratszo know that were not wasting our time. Feedback is good, even if there's no answer to the problem.

I have a Radeon 4890, and am having the exact same issue. I'm running the latest drivers (11.1) on Windows 7 x64. I'll look to see if there is a way to formally report an issue, as this is a bug I'd like to see fixed.

BTW-- thanks for troubleshooting and figuring out that it was the shader pipeline version that was the issue...at least I can play that zone now!

Maybe that's the issue! I have the lastest Catalyst drivers as well, driver 11.1 vista x64. Will try a earlier version when I have the time to do so. I was to hooked on the whole 5870 beeing the problem, but the drivers are the only thing we all three have incommon, thanks for the info mate ;D

EDIT:

Nope, no change when I installed 10.12, and by the looks of it, its just New Halas beeing buggy. Let's just hope it get's patched soon.

You will need to click on the Advanced button on the top right of the in-game options window. Shader 3 will then appear under Performance.

i am having the same issues as well but instead of the textures not showing up at all, they are completely black instead. I've tried to update the drivers as well but still no luck. some of the textures are missing even in shader 1.0. must be an ATI issue. i have a radeon HD 5750.
