I had the same issue, posted in the beta tech forums and never got an answer. No matter what I did my login went to the beta server by default. I ended up deleting the streaming client and all of my eq2 files and just started over with a full install. I am sure I was missing something simple but with no answer ever given to me as to how I could fix the issue I didn't see any other choice. Added benefit is that I went from 20-30 crashes a day (client) with the streaming client to none in over a month.

What you need to do, with both the streaming and regular installs, is install the beta to it's own folder different from the one you use for the regular game installation. You should've gotten an option to choose a custom folder when you installed things.

Yeah, I figured that out eventually, after the fact but it was still worth the hassle since it made me fianally get rid of the streaming client. I think I was more aggravated at the lack of a response in the beta tech forums than anything else.

thx for the answer Jrral. Guess there is nothing else to do then to re-dowload the game again?

If you have one working copy that is all you need. Copy it to another folder and name them appropriately - like eq2live and eq2beta. As you current copy is working for beta leave it like that and just set a shortcut to the launcher for the new live copy. At worst all you should have to do is download a copy of the live client to go in the new live folder.
