Howdy,

Sorry if this is a repeat (I also posted in the BETA forum, but have gotten no advice there), and some of my info will be minimal, since I am not entirely sure what to post.

I want to preface, that I am having zero problems in DCUO.. Game Starts up and runs flawlessly from start to end. Just tried to log into Live and was out within 5 seconds, but never had this problem on here before, but it seems to have started in the last week. Civ V, Starcraft, etc..Run with No problems. Just played DC Universe for a couple hours with zero issues.. So unless the games use my system resources Completely differently (which I know is relative).. I am simply at a loss...

I will be in game for 2-3 minutes max and then the game instantly "shatters".. so it looks like a broken window, or a Broken LCD monitor.. and then after a 5 second pause I go right to the Blue Screen. This has been repeated over 10 times now without fail. I also have looked for the crashlog file, but it does not appear that I have one.

Problem the knowledge base on both pairs of 2 Gig sticks.

Where can I find additional information on my PC to provide to enable someone to even assist me? I apologize for some of the NewbNess of my post, but I am a novice when it comes to computers.

Shader 3.0 is off.

Thank you for your help in advance, and just let me know where to look to find any other information that will help.

Rene' of Permafrost (Mistmore)(Xev

<table
Well I found out I was not in fact running the latest ATI drivers.. but I installed them.. and within 2 minutes.. Line Fragmented Shattered Display.. and Blue Screen again..

I simply cannot figure out why DC Universe would run so great on high settings, and EQ2 would completely explode.

Ideas Anyone? Got a free weekend to play (Rare).. and just cannot get on.

The BCC Code 116 indicates a problem with your video card or directx.

I would highly suggest re-installing the latest DirectX 9.0c (June 2010) and then re-installing the latest up-to-date drivers for your video card, in that order. I've provided links below for DX9.

DirectX 9.0c (June 2010)

Thanks Joshua... I thought I had installed the latest DirectX, but once I did what you said I was able to get in game for about a half hour, and no issues.. so Not sure how I missed that. It appears issue solved, but I will keep you posted if not.

Thanks Again.

Hi, I have been having the same problem.

It started with the most recent game update. My screen would flicker, then the display would distort (look like a broken monitor) then go black and my system would freeze. The only thing I could do was power off the machine.

I'm running on a Windows Vista machine with DirectX 11 and the most recent nVidia drivers for my gpu.

On my last attempt, I uninstalled EQ2 and deleted my sony folder. Then, I reinstalled using the downloadable installer (I had installed from DVDs previously). Same problem, only now I couldn't get past the character select screen. This time, however, after the screen went black and my syste appeared to lock, I used Alt + Enter (switch EQ2 to windowed mode) and then Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the Windows account options screen. I clicked "start task manager" and when the screen repainted I could see the following error message inside the EQ2 window:

"EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down.

E:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9RendererDe vice.cpp (15105):

DirectX Error. (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL) 00b23060

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem, that would be great. Everything appeared to be working fine before the last game update, but since then, I have not been able to play at all (support ticket has been made)

Rhashka

As an additional note: my alert log for eq2 is loaded full of "file not found" errors that are related to spells and spell effects.

And my problem is back as well. I checked in my Catalyst control center and all my DX and Drivers are now up to date, but often when I cast a spell in game (which isn't always the pre-cursor, but seems to be the most common event), or have one cast on me (the Druid Portal from Guild Hall).. Instantly the screen fractures and I lock up, eventually going to blue screen. Now I could believe it was just a hardware or driver issue on my side, but why would every other game/application I run work flawlessly, with great performance at high graphics (including as I said previously, the other SOE game I play as an MMO). I did not really do anything in the previous 1/2 hour forray I had into Velius, just ran around and explored, so perhaps my problem was never truly gone.

I am very frustrated, as I was really looking forward to the expansion, but I have no point even continuing my subscription at this time, since I simply cannot play.
