I feel like I should recognize that name, but I don't know who Selena is. She was talked about in the new Erollisi Day quest (full quest dialogues are here):

You have entered A Spiritual Pocket.

You say, "Hail, Drinal's Steward"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I know why you have come. Why you have been sent to me."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "You do?"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "She, beautiful and loyal. She, as skilled on the battlefield as in the temple. But she is no longer as she was."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "No. She is dead."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "You speak falsely. She is no longer whole, but dead she is not."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "Erollisi Mar is not dead?!"

Drinal's Steward says to you, "Who was speaking about the Goddess of Love? We speak of Selena."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "I thought..."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I must go now. Time waits for no mortal."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "Wait! About Erollisi..."

Drinal's Steward says to you, "I had devoted my life to her within the temple, but that was before the treachery. Now I serve the Silver Reaper. I must not keep him waiting any longer. Enjoy your life, while you can. Drink fully of its goblet, living one."

You say to Drinal's Steward, "I will remember that."

The guard that betrayed love for hate and slew her love out of jelousy and ultimately became Ullurrokk, Goddess of Betrayal.

Not that I've dug through the books that we got last year from Nek castle and verified this with in-game lore, but I'm 90% sure of this.

FYI: On Ullurrokk day do we get a bunch of Erollisi quests? Because I'm getting real tired of hearing about her instead of Erollisi on Erollisi day.

Maybe Erollisi will possess Selena then and come back to Norrath that way.

Or maybe we have to kill Ullurrokk to get Erollisi back? That would be ironic. I'm sure Inny would approve.

Or maybe your saying we need to get the two guards back together to create a spark of love to release Erollisi? Possibly. That would actually be good. But...the wait is killing me. Seriously, how long does this story line need to be drug out? Erollisi has already been dead for 2 years, some closure would be appreciated.

Who know how long her foolish brother kept her essence trapped in that casket. And how long ago she was "killed".

Considering that paladins received visions that lead them to help the Frogloks in Kunark, I'd tend to believe that it happened after the launch of RoK. Timeline wise it is easy to believe it happened after the launch of TSO, though if Inny had any inkling that a confrontation with Theer was comming up...making yourself suddenly stand out as a target isn't all that bright. So maybe this all occured pre-TSO as Mithanial Marr wasn't really involved with the whole Void storyline so far?

Let's establish the timeline a bit more.

If you're able, revisit the Mithaniel deity questline. Within the dialogue, it alluded that something terrible had happened and Mithaniel himself will not reveal exactly what it was to the prophet. The hinted-at event happened prior to the release of Echoes of Faydwer.

Eventually it was revealed that it was the death of his twin sister and Mithaniel was distracted from the events of Norrath by his grief. We took steps to release Erollisi's essence and break through Mithaniel's despair (in the update involving the Shard of Love). And so he left, renewed, and took steps that led to the formation of New Halas.

___________________________________________

Also, it was hinted that the target was Mithaniel himself. He was supposed to "die", but it was his sister who took his place instead. And that Innoruuk set things in motion leading to this event and that it involved Innoruuk's daughter and a betrayal of an Erollisi guard (who may be the one and the same).

So, on one side, Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr. On other side, Innoruuk and his supposed daughter Ulkorruuk.

At the end, the question is ... where does Selena fit in? That's if she even had a part playing out those events. I suppose the identity of Drinal's Steward is in question as well.

The conclusion from the new dialogue: Selena and the Steward were the guards of Erollisi ... probably her temple ... and the Steward was slated to become a demigod but died instead. Selena became something different and I guess it's the act of her taking on the mantle as a demigoddess of Betrayal.

So ... Selena = Ulkorruuk ... not quite earthshattering ... we just got the original name of the traitor, if proven true, though.

Selena = Ulkorruuk ... not quite earthshattering ... we just got the original name of the traitor, if proven true, though.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Conrad was suppose to become a demi-god. If so, who's demigod? Durienal's? Erollisi's? Right now he is Durienal's servant, shepard of souls to the Etheneer. That doesn't quite imply demigod.

As for Selena becomming Ulkorruuk that was fairly obvious from the book we got last year. Especially considering the circumstances under which we obtained it. The strong implcation is that Ulkorruuk is involved in this, and the other implication is that she betrayed Innorruuk as well as Erollisi to gain her revenge.

So this brings an even deeper question: Just how long has Erollisi been dead? If Erollisi's death is what catapulted Selena from mortal to diety status that would indicate that Erollisi died sometime during the age of cataclysms. Indeed she would of had to have died before the house of Everling was struck with the curse. Back when Ulkorruuk was discovered in the Temple of the Forsaken.

If this is the case...bringing back Erollisi may not happen. You can make arguments in both directions. With Erollisi's essence released, Ulkorruuk may simply absorb the rest and become much more powerful. Or Ulkorruuk may act as a catylist for Erollisi to reform. If presented with a moment of regret, Ulkorruuk may betray herself and allow herself to feel love for just a moment and reform Erollisi. Kind of fitting, wouldn't you think?

With love abandoned for hundreds of years, there should be a few potential challengers for the position of Diety of Love. Mithanial Marr could probably step into the role as there is a strong sibling worship amongst Erollisi's followers. Tunare could also fill this role. Morell Thule could attempt to take it over as well playing upon dreams, daydreams and hopes. Innoruuk could also make a play, but it might cause his own followers to schism in ways that might actually bring Lanys back into play.

Strangely, Anashti might be tempted to move into this role as well. Anashti is cut off from the plane of health. With the plane of love disorganized and undefended...moving in and trying to play up the peacock side might be a way for Anashti to regain much of her lost power, especially with the other gods watching Theer. The main barrier is that most of her "worshipers" are undead and probably not capable of feeling new emotions, and thus not exactly helpful in laying claim to love as part of her power base. Still, it is an interesting possability.

One last possability: A mortal could assend to become the demi-goddess or even greater diety of love. It would need to be someone that a lot of people knew about, and felt love for. If Antonia Bayle (or Fieona Vie) were killed in a very spectacular and public manner, especially while she did something particularly nobel or romantic that could be the catylist to have them pushed into taking the role of diety of love. I'd have to say that Lucan and Veniril need not apply.

I suppose if Inny were to disappear in a similar manner either Qho or Nathan Ironforge would take his place instantly. Any way we could make this happen?

This is why:

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "I am unaware. Drinal's Steward would be the only one who might be able to tell you."

You say to Priestess of the Silver Reaper, "Who is that? Are they a demigod?"

Priestess of the Silver Reaper says to you, "He was to be bestowed such a crown from another, but fate intervened and brought him into Drinal's waiting cloak. It is Drinal who he eternally serves, but no, he is no deity."

The bolded and underlined phrase is an evidence of the intention, but the fate got in the way, of a person's future as a demigod. Instead, he's been transformed into a steward of Drinal.

I think that's pretty clear. This part of the dialogue isn't found in this thread, but in the link.
