Ever since Halas has been released I have not been able to zone in. I always have to petition for my character to get moved. I can zone into any other zones on multiple accounts however this has always been an issue. I have tried multiple graphic settings, shader on/off etc. I have let it go this long because I have had no need to go there until recently.

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 2/6/2011, 09:45:47 Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4096MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 4094MB RAM Page File: 3993MB used, 4193MB available Windows Dir: C:Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11---------------Display Devices--------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce GTX 260 Driver Name: nvd3dumx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvd3dum,n vwgf2um,nvwgf2umDriver File Version: 8.17.0012.5896 (English) Driver Version: 8.17.12.5896

---------------

CRASH LOG

---------------

build="SOEBuild=7298L" version="SOEVersionString=2011/2/2 10:35:15" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="halas" loc="-373.40  31.75 226.63" performance="6" stack="009884c2 2d39f1c0 14e85e60 14e85e60 "

Thanks in advance.

I don't crash on zoning in, but I crash right near the broker in the housing area. I did full file scan, rebooted my pc with no change. Each time I try to log in with Hedvika now, crash.

In the interests of testing, my gnome Leely who was resting in Baubleshire wandered around a bit with no trouble. She then went to Qeynos Harbor, no trouble. She went to Frostfang sea via the globe, no trouble. She rode her horse up to the same spot in the housing area by the broker and experienced the same crash.

Somethings amiss! Maybe a glitch in adding Erollisi Day stuff to New Halas?

@Lateana

Your drivers are out of date, you could download the latest drivers at www.nvidia.com

@Goonch

Have you re-installed the game since you first tried to get in to Halas? If not, you can try to clear out your temporary files. This includes deleting the cache and logincache-us folders. Also, depending on your method of getting in to the game (Station Launcher, LaunchPad 3 etc) you may still have the halas files in your data and can possibly delete it to force a re-download of the zone.

In addition to reporting this to have it looked at on our end, please give the following directions a shot as well.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

The LaunchPad, as opposed to Station Launcher and older methods, have different file management structures. With Station Launcher and prior, you had individual files for each zone etc... With LaunchPad, these have all been consolidated down to about 6 or 7 files. These files control all of those zones.

For me this is post patch.

Edit - and I've also confirmed that only my character's in the New Halas housing area were affected. One previously ok character went from the docks to the housing area broker and only then crashed.

To confirm, all my other characters have no issues at all. They can log in to various zones (QH, Kelethin, TD, Guild halls) and do seemingly all the normal things that characters do. The character in question gets to "Adding character to zone", at which point the "EQ2 Client Application has stopped working" dialog box appears.

I'm using the newest (streaming) launcher, and after following the steps above, was able to log in and move the affected character to another zone. Have now put the files back, and am playing. All's well if I stay away from NH.

Also: only after the latest patch, yes.

Update - I did nothing more on my end, but was able to log in one of my two characters in New Halas. Without moving her, I had her caste Call to Qeynos, and it worked and she's out of there. Optimistically, I tried to log in my Barabarian and still crashes. I can't really use her Call to Halas spell anyway, it would put her a few feet from where she's crashing, LOL.

Pretty much the same problem(s) posted here. Using 2 different accounts on 2 different computers, I will crash when passing the center of Halas or the broker in the housing area, or while accessing the housing broker and doing a transaction. If I have a character that crashed passing the center of Halas, it will usually crash again as soon as I move after relogging, but Not always. The same with the broker; sometimes I can actually access it and begin transactions before crashing.

These characters have No problems in other zones with other brokers or with the GHall broker. They have been in Frostfang Sea for weeks, collecting shinies and putting them on the broker in the housing area. These problems stated today(2/8/11) after the patch.

I've had this happen several times today as well. Logged my character off in New Halas near the banker last night. Logged on today after patch and kept crashing - client would stop working. After the 5th time I was able to sneak in a call to guild hall and haven't had an issue since. So this was new for me since the patch, and has just been in New Halas.

It seems they moved several of the Erollisi Day quests to new Halas and that could be what messed things up. It also makes it difficult to complete these quests.

I petitioned to have my warden moved to Qeynos so that I would actually be able to log her in and play. I got a reply saying she had been moved, but char select screen still says she's in Frostfang Sea, and I still crashed trying to load her into game (I tried twice) So I updated my ticket saying she's still stuck... *sigh*

I was looking forward to my first Erollisi Day. I have been unable to stay in New Halas (where most of my characters live) for any length of time without crashing to the desktop since Tuesday's game update. This event requires being in New Halas for at least one quest that I know of so far. I am stuck there, trying to login but crash over and over to desktop. As my characters live in New Halas avoiding the area is not a simple solution for me. I need access to my homes.

Same issue, was approaching the Cairn of the Huntress in New Halas when I crashed. Completely unable to get my toon back on now so will likely have to petition to get Cyliena out.

Was going to include logs but I see now on page 3 that you said the issue is identified. Here's hoping for a patch today. o.O

edit: For some reason my husband's computer loaded me in fine and I got myself out. There really isn't much difference between our systems so no idea what in the world is going on there.

Update:

Last night I logged in on a different character, played a while, then camped to the stuck character in NH and was successful. I got out of NH a.s.a.p.

This morning I decided to try logging in a character that was in her house in NH and had no problems. I went into the city, still no problems. I saw Vidkole Thartium with a feather over her head, clicked her and read the quests offered, I didn't accept any. I saw a quest ready to turn in to Gerla Meltwater inside Glacierbane's Vault, and did that. As soon as I exited the building I had the same lock up as yesterday and had to do a hard reboot...again. /sigh

This is also my first Erollisi Day.

I'm going to defrag, but I'm not going back into NH until a patch comes down. I have company coming from the 14th to the 19th and was hoping to get in as much event stuff as I could before then. Fix this, please, please, please.

As soon as I hit Halas it crashes the game. A few of us were able to instantly use port to GH and get out so we aren't stuck there. Those with slower systems crash before they are fully loaded. Lots of upset people right now over this, but I'm sure they are working on it.

Zoned in to New Halas for Erollisi day, got up to the middle section of town from the docks, and crashed. Tried to log back in, crahsed again right away. Did a full file scan, was fine for several minutes (long enough to talk to the Priest, pick up a shiny, and start running to the docks) then crashed again. I've never had a problem in this zone before today.

I am aslo crashing everywhere i go since patch and follow option is also missing don't know if it is related. Probably not but still ever since patch i have crashed at least 17 times and done full scan deleted appache.vpk 3 times and re downloaded deleted all the cache folders and it is not limited to one character it is all 23 of mine in any zone, and only started after the patch. The crashing is actually worse in Halas 2 to 4 steps and both my widowed EQ2s crash to can't open errror log, and A program is stopping EQ2 from reponding checking for resolution to problem and then i get the program EQ2 needs to be shut down. The message is about he same the last one is the could not open error log first time both windowed clients crashed mainly last 16 times was secondary EQ2 client running in or near halas and Enchanted lands. Sorry just managed to get one of the crash logs to open here is the details in it hopefully it helps. Well it is true not one tiny movement into halas now mainly. I turned one small turn and poof dead stop and then error message and back to desktop. I have for the 4th time deleted anything to do with halas, appache.vpk file cache folders and managed to get into the error log file for second time after another could not open log file error in background of the a program has caused EQ2.exe to stop responding checking for solution etc.. I was trying to get character out of halas but no go there any movement in any zone will crash to desk now on either account and any character. as of 1pm CST can not log in without immideately crashing.

SOEBuild=7302LSOEVersionString=2011/2/3 9:37:38

EVERQUEST2 CRASH LOG

================================================== ================================================Un
Ya... before this updated patch, it was totally fine before. As I said before, I zoned into New Halas, right in the centre and it crashed right away. Hopefully this will be fixed by later on today or tomorrow...

Same problem here... I have done every check sweep I can with both eq2 and just my computer. I can log everyother character I have into the game just fine.

But I took my main over to Halas this morning and now I can not log her in. When I try to log into her I do not even make it into the game I get a error message saying something like "this program has stopped working, windows is searching the issue-- something along those lines. But I can immediatly log in anyother character I have that is no in Halas and everything is fine..
After running a full file scan and setting my graphics to maximum performance, I still crash immediately. Currently character is located near the center of New Halas.

I guess it's time to give up for now? Hopefully work is continuing on finding the cause and implementing a fix. The fact that not everyone is affected must complicate matters.

Yeah whatever you guys did to New Halas for the Erollisi Day event, you broke the zone. Anyone who goes near the center of the town will crash. I can't log into my character to move her because it crashes before I even get control.

Little note to add. It seems that if I'm in Frostfang 2 it crashes the most. If I go to like Frostfang 5 (when there is one) I don't have problems. As to why changing from one to another would make a difference, I really don't know. Any update from the Dev team would be really helpful.

This is so frustrating, I know so many of us have been looking forward to this event for weeks now and it's just not working like it should. I was able to get into New Halas via my house and actually ran around and finished a quest in New Halas and the second I stopped moving it crashed me to desktop and now I'm stuck AGAIN. Most of the people online in my guild have a toon stuck there now too so it's just ticking people off left and right. NO LOVE LOL

Can we please get an update on what is being done to resolve this?

I'm having the same problem too -- the area around the Broker and the central square in front of the Cairn are New Crash City I'm able to get about halfway through a /bug report before it punts me to desktop. I've done four Full File Scans, three reboots, and a checkdisk on my HD, and none have done diddly

I do hope this is resolved soon, since the bulk of the Erollisi Day events are in New Halas.

Same, most any movement causes a crash, I take 3 steps crash, log back in move 3-5 steps, crash. My video drivers were updates 3 days ago, it is not my video card. Since loggin in 2 hours ago I have also had crashing problems in Enchanted lands as well. In both zones I have crashed 17 times in about 45 mins.

I'm on AB, and there are also issues concerning Missing NPC's (Dev's know about the missing NPC's and are working on it), especially in Thundering Steppes. Kerath McMarrin (hadden's earring quest giver) Octogorgon is missing as well, on all servers. I was fighting a centaur in Thundering Steppes, and for what ever reason, the centaur flew up into the air, so far above my head, I nwas out of range, however the centaur could still hit me, and when I ran he ran above me IN THE AIR, lol. Finally a guiildie came along and got him with bow and arrows. I have noticed a lot more mobs and harvesting nodes are up in the air, just floating there.

With all the recent server mergers, are we getting ready for a server meltdown? Something ios going on with all the servers. Can we get an official word on what is happening and when there is an ETD on when we can expect it to be fixed?

Im starting to wonder if the when the patch was coded, the dev's set the max number of players in those zones too small by mistake. I've seen that happen in WoW before so it's possible there was a coding error which made it so only like 5 people can be in the updated zones at any given time.

I posted in the first Halas thread I saw here is what I posted:

After the small patch I assume for Erollsi Day on 20110208 I have been crashing as well but I can avoid it.

After updating everything I could, bios, graphic drivers windows update, a completly new install after uninstalling and deleting the eq2 folder disabled sound and increased pagefile size; I discovered there are two NPC that make me crash and only when I get within a few game meters away. They are Ferthild Locknaird who roams all around the New Halas crafting area and Aldhildur Galculloh who roams the Main New Halas area; they both seem to be the same character model but Ferthild is hooded so I can't say for 100% sure (edit) and they both wear the same robe(/edit).

(edit2) I have been watching Ferthild Locknaird at a distance roam and as she passes by people some go linkdead.
What happened to me is that I could not zone into new halas from the char select screen after 3 tries, but when I log onto another character and then /camp
it worked.

It appears that the patch is downloading every time you log on. A similar problem occured a while back.

My character was just sitting there in the crafting area looking at the back wall then crash and all I saw that was different was the NPC had moved into my view. So then I tested it I went and hunted and harvested for hours then came back and purposely ran toward the NPC and crash.

I think it is worse with some people because they have the distance rendering farther away then others; I just came back after a 2 year break and a fresh install and was fine for the first week so I was baffled and turned my setting to absolute minimal and it got better, I bet it is something the NPC is wearing that isn't drawn till you are with in the threshhold your settings adhere too.

Perhaps extend this event another day? I've been crashing all day even with the graphics turned down.

I wish I had thought to come here and check because I just got a new computer and graphics card and thought it was me. Ugh!

Yea that would be nice of them. I think the totally shut down the Frostfang area because I tried to leave my house and it won't even load into the zone so I can't even crash my way to a new zone to work on the quests and collections.

I'm not having the crash issue, but with the newest launcher, the thing preloads game assets and either gets stuck at 99%, or completes and when you press play...you get some fancy error 10 minutes later saying it timed out. I can load the game from the application (everquest2.exe) but yeah...like half the game is missing if I do it that route...I have a toon stuck in new halas atm because apparently, the game doesn't think I have it on my comp, which is crap, because prior to the patch...it worked just fine.

I see green textures or sometimes crystal clear textures unless I turn the graphics ALL the way down in frostfang sea, ugh. oh well, off to another area for a few months till its all fixed. =/

So...is this fixed now? I've been afraid to try to enter NH. I'm guessing the silence in this thread is a good thing.
