Greetings,I recently returned to EQ2 (In November 2010) after a year+ hiatus. I pulled a perfect, patched clean install of an eq2 client out of a backup archive and did all the patching (in Nov 2010). I went about 1 month before......one day out of the blue, as I was playing in a larger zone, Luclin just moved itself from one part of the sky to the next within its orbital path. I stopped and looked at it (because this caught my attention immedantly) and it did not move again. In fact, it has SINCE been locked in place skipping to different parts in it's orbit every few Noratthian Hours at a set time. Also, occasionally, the time cycle has no transisition for me. It will be the dead of night, then it will just flick to mid day. The in-game clock displays correct functionaing norrathian time. Now, again, out of the blue, another strange issue arises (new as of today).... The cracked and shattered moon itself is gone, just... gone from the sky completely. All that sits there is it's large span of fire in the space around where [it used to be] and of course still does not orbit properly.I have my serious doubts that it's my system, because I play many modern games on my system, at high or even maxed out settings ay 1920x1080 with no problems in any of them.I've tried reinstalling Direct X, and it did not fix it. I tried reinstalling and even rolling back my video drivers, and it too did not fix the problem. Now, the next obvious thing to do would be to reinstall. SO I did, from the same archive I pulled the clone of a client that the game was patched and good to go with in Nov 2010. I patched it, logged in. (Note nothing remains of the old client now) Still, didn't fix it.The Streaming and EQ2x Client both have this problem (and also, never did before I noticed this problem on my patched live client) I play on test sometimes, but didn't notice if it does it on test too. Probably does...People say it's a driver issue... tell me, what kind of driver issue makes ONLY Luclin stop moving, cause intermittent day/night cycle problems but leaves the sun and Drinal alone to orbit normally???Yes... I've included a screenshot for you to look at and shake your head.http://i53.tinypic.com/2sbvash.jpgSystem Specs:AMD Phenom X3 8450 ~2.10 GHz5GB RAMATI Radeon HD 4870 (1024 MB)

Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit

EQ2's Settings are very personally tweaked to get the most FPS I can and still look great. Textures are all on Max because the HD 4870 has no problem with textures, but my CPU does show a slight overload when I turn up the LoD Bias, so that is on medium, yet none of these settings no matter what, bring luclin back to a normal state. Triandle density would be my next guess. Hey, it's maxed out too.. Oh and so is Rendering Distance. Complex Shader is on 1/4 on the slider. It too has no effect on this issue. If anyone has any ideas, if it's one particular obscure setting in eq2 or maybe my ATi control panel, I'm all ears. Otherwise I don't want to hear garbage on how "my GPU is going" or "my CPU is weak" or "not enough RAM" like most forum communies will tell you because they have no idea what they're talking about.

Cheers

*EDIT: Forgot to note my Windows Version.

Please post your DXDIAG here. I've included instructions below. We only need the system and display sections but include the entire sections please.

It may just be file corruption, or cache issues. We can rule that out quickly by following the steps below.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

[EQII] Video walkthrough: Generating dxdiag, msinfo32 and netinfo files

I tried deleting those files and didn't get any results, which didn't surprise me because before this.. I did reinstall the game clean and patch it which didn't help eithier.

I can't seem to post the dxdiag dump here because it's way too long.

I am still trying to reproduce this issue, I will update this thread when I have more information. I'm fairly certain it doesn't seem to be related to your system configuration.
