Ok, after much hubbub I have finally got my station name and password for my old account.

I have characters on the Butcherblock server but using the launcher I have no ability too choose that server. I see my characters under my profile when I am logged in but I cannot get too them....

Can I do this with the EQ2X launcher? I am not going to run out and purchase the game discs, again, since I have it on my HDD already. Perhaps there is another download for EQ2 Live?

Any help would be appriciated.

Don't try to log into your characters from the launcher. Just go on to the character select screen and log in from there, that should fix it.

You may need to choose the select a character option first. Then when you get to the screen where you can see all your characters you should be able to login there.

However, after spending some time reading the boards, and getting really tired of LoN and SC, my advice is to run before getting to invested again.

Also be sure that you have installed the correct client. If you installed the EU client, then you will not have access to Butcherblock.

I will move this to Tech Support in case these ideas do not fix your issue, perhaps a TSR or wise tech savvy person will be able to help.

What servers are available to you to create a character on?

If you have an existing account and you are only wanting to subscribe, you will not receive an activation code.

Keeping in mind that I am using the EQ2X launcher...

Once it goes through all of the loading stuff it drops me right into the create character screen (assuming I have not created one, I have created one on the FTP but deleted it.), I go through all the creation stuff and it is currently only giving me the freeport server with a heavy population load!

Also, I only did the 3 day activation ($4.99) as I do not want to drop too much money up front if it becomes too uhmm, addictive, I want to be able to stop without loosing too much moula!

I am sitting at home today watching my daughter (pink eye) and I am bored!

EQ2X and EQ2 are two different animals. You will need the EQ2 launcher. I don't know where the download link is though.

Ok, Eq2X only has one server. Freeport. That is your issue. The only way to have a character from Butcherblock moved there is to pay the 35.00 on Marketplace to have your character copied to the EQ2X server. This is a one time copy per character.

Eq2X is about as separate as you can get form Eq2 "live". The 3 day pass is for the EQ2 "live" server. Eq2X is the FTP server. They have their own set of forums as well EverQuest II Extended Forums

If you wish to play on Butcherblock, then you will need to install the Eq2 launcher. [EQII] Station Launcher FAQ

Yikes on the Pink eye... been there

The EQ2X launcher vs. the regular launcher was the issue.

I am all set now, thanks for the help all.

Now I need to relearn how to play a 43 Illusionist

You should be able to ask in channel if you have any questions.

By the way, be sure to sterilize EVERYTHING especially towels and pillow cases. Good luck!
