So I open my windows game folder and BLAM the'res like 40 EQ2 icons, only one of which actually works. I can't seem to delete the others. Since I don't see a tech support forum.. I guess this is as good a place as any to ask.

This is the technical support forums!

Does your uninistall programs list show these 40 EQ2 installations as well? What error do you receive when you attempt to delete the icons?

Its from using the old patcher. You need to either use the station launcher or the streaming launcher to stop this from happening.

Mine has this too. Guess I will have to use the streaming patcher now which I was never really a fan of.

You can open regedit and delete those entrys.

Goto

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionGameUX

The dupicates are probably under the S-1-5-21 sub folders.

Deleteting those should do the trick but you may have to leave one there if you prefer to launch through your games folder.

As always I suggest you right click any folder and export to create a reg file in case you wish to restore.

Holy moley... There's a tone of folders under that related to EQ2.

edit: well I cleaned it up, though i guess i nuked the one that actually worked. Oh well, I launch from desktop anyways, via EQ2 maps. Still, that's one less mess on my comptuer... now if only I can get the [Removed for Content] thing to not lockup after waking from sleep!
