Just like the title indicates. Will steam be offering the PreOrder for DOV?

I assume no biggy if it does not, as your SOE account is the one that keeps track of all the rewards ect. But it would be nice to have it easy on steam. I ordered SF via steam and run the game via steam as well.

Right now pre-orders are only available through SOE, Amazon and GameStop. The Collector's Edition is only going to be digital this time, and is only available through SOE for pre-order. We will probably add more retailers as we near the launch date though, so if Steam is your preferred retailer and you don't want the Collector's Edition, then keep an eye out to see if they are added to the list before launch.

Get all the info right here!

Either that or perhaps have a US guildmate send you a copy for a lower shipping fee (or just get the code from them.) However, I'm saying this with extreme caution and do this only with someone you trust inherently. SOE can't be responsible for guild trades gone bad, I'm afraid.

It is unfortunate that there's not as many choices for international players, but as I said the only difference is a cloak vs. a pet, so all things considered with past launches taken into mind, it seems to me this isn't a big difference. In all there are three versions of the game, two of which are available to our international players.

In case you need to reinstall?

You can buy an 8GB thumb drive for less than the retail box.

Go buy some heavy weight white paper in tabloid size. Fold it to match the dimensions and shape of a retail box. Now get some photo paper for your printer and print out the Destiny of Velious box cover art. Cut it to size and use a glue stick to apply it to the front of the box. Now burn 2 DVDs of your C:Program FilesSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II folder. Presto, you have the exact same thing you get by buying the EQ2: Destiny of Velious box, and you just saved $40 plus $40 shipping.

Does anyone know if you can install the pre-order in the stream folder and have it still work?

The Evercracked DVD was the only value outside of the game.

Even the game on DVD is rather limited, what's on the disk usually doesn't save much download time in the inevitable update between RTM and live.

Doesn't matter if your original pre-expansion copy was bought via Steam or dvds or D2D or whatever.

Edit: unless you can pre-download some stuff that I don't know about, in which case... I don't know?

I get stressed when I'm kept in the dark for ages. My problem but I'm happy to share it. At the moment Amazon UK and Gamestop UK have yet to acknowledge DoV exists. Amazon will ship to the UK but if you want it couriered thats another $21.99 right there. Gamestop won't ship outside the US. That leaves SOE who, as other threads have said, seem to have rather strange ideas about exchange rates resulting in inflated prices.

Last year the same planning resulted in huge grief all round and SOE's eventual recognition that international customers needed a local download option. Please show you've learnt a few lessons and don't leave it until the last moment again this year.

You mean they are shipping a different version of the expansion for retail box then digital - so that people that want retail box will be playing a inferior version of the expansionthen those that have digitally downloaded the same expansion? Interesting statement. Maybe you consider the eye candy in the digital version a "superior version' of the expansion but other people don't
