Apologies if this has been suggested/beat to death already.

The recipe for the Mirror of Reflected Achievements items is only available with high enough faction via city tradeskill faction. If I want a mirror, I understand I can have one commissioned or can grind the faction up myself. No problems with this system.

Suggestion:

However, I suggest that when the combine is completed, it creates an heirloom crate instead of a no trade mirror. If you unpack the crate, you get the no trade mirror.

Reasoning:

Grinding the faction required on multiple characters in order to make it yourself = ouch. very ouch.

Not all tradeskill professions are created equal in their ability to level quickly (Woodworkers leveling almost have to do writs to get any semblance of speed because of the very low amount of craftable items they receive. Sages, on the other hand, can pristine almost all the way to the top. On my Sage, who is 53 I believe, starting at 20 I'm making one pristine and working up... I think I'm still hammering through the level 48 recipies?)

Heirloom crates would prevent them being brokered -- if that is even a concern, actually.

If I take the time to grind the faction on one of my characters, I can make the crates for my other characters without having to panic and find someone else to help me out.

When completing the epic tradeskill quest where you need the crafted items from each of the nine professions, those items are heirloom -- this doesn't seem to be much of a stretch with that precedent.

It would make several crafters very happy, and I don't see how it would upset many people. Very few, if any. I have yet to ever see (on any server I've been on) someone offering the service of creating a mirror via advertising in the chat channels.

I appreciate the time it takes to read and consider!

I've been asking for AA mirrors to be made heirloom for quite a while. /sigh

I"m hoping for a portable version myself, even if it has say a 24 hour recharge or something, as well as the heirloom tag. Hopefully once the expansion is in and stabilized some of this older stuff can be looked at again.

That has already been looked at and unless things change in the coding dept., having the mirror heirloom opens the way up for exploitation of having a few extra "perks" like what happened when it was first put in game. Immediately, SoE "hotfixed" the situation by making the AA mirror non-transferrable which means no heirloom.

Swapping AAs is so "game breaking" that an MMO launching in March is built on the premise.

What works in one game, could ruin another game because they arn't ballanced for it. While it matters a lot less when your reaching the 230's in AA if you could use a mirror or not, being able to get most of the benifit of having 250 AA when you've only got 180ish would be the effect of being able to switch AA in the field. There are a lot of obscure AA lines people hardly touch because they are only good in certain situations. Being able to switch them at will...you always have that edge for no real cost.

The devs here chose to make AA changeable but not at will. It is a good compramise actually.

The SC store has similar wrapped items in it on Freeport, the vet rewards use the same artwork and one would assume programming to store something of different permissions inside plain brown paper wrapping.

You could then freely place a wrapped AA mirror into your bank and then unwrap it on another character, doing so making it that character's only.

Of course once you have the placeable AA mirror it should be yours alone, but before it is unwrapped why the restriction?
