Do you experience crashes outside of the EQ2 game? While nothing immediately jumps out at me as a problem based on your DXDIAG, I did notice that your virtual memory is lower than your physical memory. While this typically doesn't cause many issues, especially considering you have 12gb of physical memory installed, it could cause the symptons you are experiencing. Especially when you are switching focus on a full screen application, what is loaded in memory will be dumped to your pagefile. If the pagefile does not have enough free space and/or cannot increase the space itself through Windows managing it, it can cause crashing in certain situations.

Would you be able to set your virtual memory to 50% higher than your physical memory? In your case that would be an 18Gb pagefile. You will also need to make sure you have enough hard drive space for that increase in size.

Other than that, if you are familiar with MSINFO, we would use the [Windows Error Reporting] section to possibly get more information on the crashes itself.

While I review more information, my suggestion now would be to go to your control panel, Power Options, and select High Performance mode, or edit an existing profile. The setting within that profile I would like you to set is PCI-Express > Link State Power Management. Turn it OFF and see if it improves your situation. This isn't my end all fix, just a step among more to come.

How many watts are your power supplies and do you have both machines plugged into the same surge protector?

It might be that you're trying to pull too much juice through a low rated surge protector (like a 600 watts max) not rated for that many watts. IF you do have both machines plugged into the same surge protector try spliting them up so each computer runs on a different circuit.

I had the exact same problem as you discribed trying to run two 1000 watt machines through the same outlet (and surge protector) and this is was solved it for me. It wouldn't trip the surge protector but it was browning out because a single surge protector couldn't provide enough juice to run both machines.

That is an excellent piece of advise on the power supplies capacity and whether you are using the same surge protector or not. If this does help you get it going, let me know so I can set up a Knowledge Base article for it.

Power Supplys are 750W and they are plugged into their own Power strip (don't use a Surge Protector)

Which are plugged into diffrent circuts in the house.

Things I noticed last night

If I run the highest video mode I will crash more often that in the lower modes. It there are many objects in the zone..ie (Guild Hall or VD when there a few raids forming ) I will crash much more often that when I’m in a instance or zone with less graphic impact. On my second computer if I am above the middle graphic setting (balanced ?) I will crash every time I press Print Screen.

The video card I have in these systems I was using before I upgraded the CPU, RAM, and Motherboard so I believe the conflict is between one of them(probable the motherboard) and EQ.

I have run the manufactures stress test (EVGA OC Scanner) and Memtest86 v4.0 with no reported problems or lockups

Updated the Nvidia driver to the latest 266.58 which came out yesterday.

Also I’m installing Wow on the systems and going to use the free account to give me a second application to test the systems out with

Overclocking can result in unexpected results regardless of how stable it appears to be. I agree with the poster above when saying that this should be a step in the process. Going through a process of elimination, if time allows, is the most efficient way to identify what exactly may have failed. Remove a stick of ram, test another slot, perhaps even another video card if available.

We'll try the standard process and work our way up.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher. If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

With the fact that it definitely appears to not be a stability issue for the most part, it could be file corruption. If the above does not clear what may be the source of the problem, the only way to get any deeper to rebuild the files would be to run a complete scan and/or re-installing the game.

Downloaded a new copy of EQ2 last night. Didn't make any changes to the settings except to turn graphics to max. Was able to load up 4 accounts and run without lockups. Ran for about 15 min.

Then I turned on Voice Chat immediately locked up.

Went back to my original instance of EQ2 turned off Voice Chat and loaded the same 4 character with max graphic no lockups. Server went down at that point will continue to test this evening.

Ah so it appears that your current issue revolves around the voice chat service. This does run independantly from the game executable. While I do not have a solution ready for you, here is the Knowledge Base Voice Chat FAQ. It contains much information regarding the services and required ports. It may help you work around this issue while multi-boxing characters in the meantime.

[EQII] Voice Chat FAQ

Went all night without lockups, first time since I installed this motherboard.

The lockups looks to be related to any sound recording activity that happens on the PC. If I enable voice chat in EQ2 it locks. If I launch the Sound Recorder within the Realtek audio manager it locks.

Have just downloaded the latest audio drivers from motherboard manufacture doesn’t help.

That does sound like a sound device that has failed. Do you have a way to test another sound device? A USB headset, with your realtek device disabled in BIOS, would work.

I did want to relay some information that I just acquired.

We've recently had a wave of voice chat issues in another game of ours that uses the same service to accomplish voice chat.

It turns out that a majority of these issues had a common denominator, similar or exact same routers.

We do suggest bypassing your router altogether, but that isn't always an option per user. What you may be able to do to resolve this issue would be to visit your router manufacturers website and update to the latest available firmware. This may not fix everyones issue, but is worth a looking at to make sure your router is up-to-date as well.

Hopefully the possible hardware failure hasn't affected more than just the audio device on the motherboard, but if it works that's all that matters for now!

Yes, I didn't mean to say that the RealTek devices are 'broken', simply that it is clear that the hardware was failing to do what you were trying to do. I use the same RealTek device on my home PC and do not have issues. Switching to new cards got rid of the problem. Through process of elimination one can assume at this point that your RealTek devices were the source of the problem. Why? We have not determined that specifically.
