Running Win7 x64 and I just moved to a different room, now I'm running it on a 110" screen so I need to increase my Windows DPI settings (looks great btw).

Anyhow went to run EQ2 for the first time on this screen, but it's the same PC as before. First I get a weird error when it tried to login that I had some kind of pointer or block corrupted, did a full file scan and same thing. I got a 2nd client I had installed to run but I had several probems. First the mouse was very weird, inside EQ2 it wouldnt go to the edges of the screen and when moved around it would pop back down causing your view to be stuck underneath yourself every second or so. Also since it wouldn't go outside the windowed EQ2 client the only way to switch programs was alt tab, and after alt tabbing to another program the mouse would just stay in the upper left corner and sit there kinda going back and forth. The other issue was that the EQ2 client was in a much lower resolution than the desktop.

Now if I switched to full screen mode all these problems went away, the mouse acted normal in and out of the client, and the resolution was normal. But I only play in windowed mode so that doesnt do me any good. Thankfully I came across a very old post about the mouse behaviour and was able to see that it was Windows DPI settings that were screwing it up.

Anyone else come across this? Any solution? As it is now I'm playing with my DPI settings to 100% and the game runs fine, but it sucks to have to squint at the tiny letters on the rest of the PC, especially since I usually have a lot of windows open in addition to EQ2, like ACT, internet browsers, Vent, etc etc.

I haven't tested any DPI settings within EQ2 but we'll see if we can reproduce the issue here so that I can alert the appropriate team of possible changes I can recommend. I'll let you know our results as well.

When you say you moved to another room, did you move to another PC as well or did that come with you to the new 110" screen? You can try clearing out your settings and letting the game rebuild the files without your previous screen specific settings still present.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.inieq2.ini

Unfortunately, Increasing the DPI on Windows beyound the default of 96DPI will cause the issues you described. There isn't a work-around for it, except for just turning the setting back down to 96.

I just moved the PC to a different monitor. It previously was on a 28" monitor so I had my DPI set at 100% and everything ran fine. Then I moved the same PC to the projector setup on a 110" screen (new resolution is 1920 x 1080) and set the DPI to 150% and that's when I started having problems.

The weird thing is I have 2 EQ2 clients set up on my PC. When I run one of the clients it crashes with the error, it's when I run the 2nd client that it actually starts up the game but I get the low resolution and the mouse problems.

I'll try deleting those files/folders and rebuilding thanks so much for your help.

Just tried it with both clients after deleting the files/folders you specified. On my first client I still get the critical error message of "Previous pointer or Block is corrupted" and on my 2nd client it runs but it runs in low resolution in windowed mode and it doesn't allow the mouse to pick anything outside of the EQ2 window, if I place the mouse outside the window it just snaps back to the middle of the EQ2 window. This is set at 150% DPI, if I set it back to 100% DPI both clients run perfectly.

I've taken note of all of your steps but unfortunately we do not have a quick fix for that at this time. I will submit it to the appropriate parties however. Hopefully we can have a resolution for this in the near future. I would continue to have it set at 100% for the time being.
