View Full Version : Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate and Several Issues

The first issue is that when I go some places, things don't appear for 30 seconds to two full minutes.

The second issue is that, when I zone into any location, my EQ2 stops responding, and can be unresponsive for 15-30 minutes at a time... very rarely do I zone right in, able to play.

A third issue I am experiencing, and by far the worst in my book, is this: I ran EQ2 fine until I started doing the Station Cash offers beginning January 1st. Day before yesterday, I had major computer lag, so tried to uninstall FlipToast (one of the programs I had to download for station cash). I couldn't delete it, I couldn't uninstall it, and I couldn't even exit out of the program. So, I did a system recovery for sometime in December before I installed EQ2, and reinstalled the game, my UI, and EQ2 maps. I left the launcher running overnight so it could finish downloading content. When I tried to get on yesterday, everything changed. My cracked granite walls, floors and ceilings are this ghastly bright yellow that I cannot get rid of no matter how I set my graphics settings. If I set my Complex shaders (via the ProfitUI sliders) to minimum, the yellow goes away, but I can no longer see water or the flame effects on certain things like the sublevian crumbler plushies. If I set it to 0 or 1, the yellow comes back, but I can see burning things and water.

Somehow I got it to where there is no yellow walls, and I can still see the water and flames, but stuff like floating candles that have 5 candles... only shows three candles. Same with other objects. Its also pitch dark, even with Night Vision turned on. (Not to be confused with Sonic Vision, which I hate.)

Another issue, is that, when I minimize EQ2 for even a moment and pull it back up, it stops responding and gives me a black screen for 10-30 minutes.

The last issue that I have, is that the lag is so bad on EQ2 that when I log in, my station cash does not reflect the true balance of my wallet for at least 5 minutes after being in world. My character jerks when he walks or runs, as do all of the mobs around me. I die easily when casting spells, because the lag is so bad that I'm dead before I can get a spell off.

These issues are making my gaming quite substantially un-fun to play.

Screenshots:

Yellow Walls (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b218/aryadna1/OMGYELLOW.jpg)

Dark as heck, but workable... still has massive lag (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b218/aryadna1/Normal.jpg)

My system
Well, since everyone here was so nice and posted so many very helpful answers (sarcasm), I asked a tech geek friend of mine. I cleared my cache per his instruction, and everything works well now, and I no longer have lag. View, lighting, and everything I described is now fixed and functioning correctly.

I apologize about not getting to you. I was only recently assigned here less than a week ago but I assure you that I will be a recurring presence from here on out.

LOL You're fine, hunnie. I was just being a smart-aleck. I did fix the problem by deleting my cache, though. Now, I have a different problem. No matter what I set my settings at, I cannot see fire anywhere. Not on my torches, not on my Sublevian Crumbler Plushies, nowhere. I can see the flames on my candelabras, though, which just stupefies me to no end. Got any suggestions?

Could you tell me what you have set for lighting/particles/shadows in your display options?
