2 things, are you running the game as administrator? Second have you reinstalled your DX9 from Microsoft? Have you defragged your computer lately?

I run a Macbook Pro with a 9800GT in it and I have no issues, but I'm not using the newest nvidia drivers either. If you want help with this PM me. I'll probably be able to help you a bit. Your setup should work just fine.

ok 3 things. also forgot to metion that not all mmo's are using DX9 like this or DX9 at all.

LOL doesn't say "ME".. it's workable, sound more like a DX9 problem and a reinstall of DX9 will fix it. I had that happen to my win7 6 months ago. Grabbed the dx9 pack from microsoft, install and all fixed. This isn't that big of a deal and that isn't a new computer.

From the other forums I read on the issue, it has to do with how EQ2 works with your RAM if you are low on it. It was suggested on other forums to increase your VM to 4096, have you tried that?

OP, it really sounds like an user side issue, not a game issue. I personally have zero issues running Eq2 on my laptop with a 9800m GS in it and Vista. (not the same card, I am aware).

ALL my problems running eq2 and other games on this system stemmed from problems with Vista, once I beat Vista into submission everything works just dandy.

Another question would be have you done a reinstall of eq2? and are you using the streaming launcher (there are a ton of bugs with that thing).

Sounds like the same issue others are having http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=488098, http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=490607

Since we've tried updating our drivers and anything else we can think of, and this is still happening to me as well as several of my guildees, I'm not so sure it's a user side issue.

Edit: (Of course I admit I'm definately not very technologically knowledgable, but that's the first thing I thought of when I read this.)

I had this problem and had to roll back my video drivers to a slightly older version to correct the problem.

Someone on the dev team needs to look into this - someone that buys a new computer, and the "Sentinal's Fate Collector's Edition" box set, will not have EQ2 work for them after an install. Less technically savvy people will just give up.

Sounds like the patcher needs to do something to make sure DX9 is installed, or at least a better error message is displayed.
