So.... i upgraded from XP to windows. I did a clean install and i copied my sony/everquest2 folder over and put it in the same location c/programfiles/sony/everquest2

it worked. i kept my UI, i kept my eq2 maps, i kept my auto attack bar, and all my performance settings.

then there was a patch, todays hotfix. i go to launch the game and it goes to patch and says it cant, i am not at my computer right now so i cant write what it exactly says, (expect an edit in the future that will have official message).

in addition to that, i cant set up act, it gives me the "you need to make sure logging is enabled" i log in and logging is ON.

is this because windows 7 as great as it is compared to vista, stores some files and applications in program files and others in the hidden folder program data? should i move my eq2 directory to program data?

any info or suggestions are appreciated. thanks

PS i have 2 computers set up the exact same way listed above and both do the same thing

Word of caution from the previous WOW posters comment, it is ill advised to do this - the UAC is an major part of the security module of Windows 7 and it's predessor Windows Vista, it is utilized by various kernal processes to assist in the protection of your OS for both windows 7 and 3rd applications - specificly anti-virus, anti-malware to name a few. Turing off te UAC as was mentioned in the previous post can compromise the ability of the othe security software and application software processes.

Do so at your own risk the game will run fine with the UAC at it;s normal setting.
