I'm on Unrest, and since the server merger (which reset all hotkeys and colors to default) 1 of my 3 accounts will not keep my custom colors.

Long ago I set this up and have always backed it up when getting a new computer/hard drive: /save_colors colors1.dat. I use the same file for all of my accounts, copied to each computer.

/load_colors colors1.dat has worked just fine on the other 2 accounts, but the 3rd it just will not stick. I had to make an in game macro to click & load the colors every time I log in. I have used all 3 accounts on both computers since the merger. It even happens if I camp to a different character or log in on my other computer & load the colors.

Any ideas?

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniTo do this, please follow these directions:1. First look for your EverQuest II directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:Program DataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them. 5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

Once that's done, attempt to reload the colors.

I know that is the standard first attempt for everything, but TBH I can't see how that could fix an issue with chat colors, the info is not stored in any of those files.

This does not ever happen to my other 2 accounts on either computer. It happens to this account on BOTH computers (one is XP, one is Vista 64 bit). I've dealt with the loading colors before when doing fresh installs and I have never had trouble making it stick after a few times of loading it.
