Thank you Wingrider for your quick reply. I am using a Macbook Pro OSX Core 2 Duo. NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I downloaded the latest DirectX9. Is that what you mean by the the directx runtime package from microsoft?

Windows works fine on my Mac. It's just this game.

I hope I can find a way to make this work because I specifically bought Windows to play EQ2.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I started getting this exact same crash error as of maybe 6 weeks ago too. My computer runs 32 bit Windows 7, DirectX 11 (according to dxdiag), and two Geforce 9800 GTX video cards (drivers are up to date). I have tried downloading DirectX 9 (runtime update dated November 30, 2010) a couple times over the past few weeks to see if that might fix it but everytime I do so the patcher says I am running an equivalent version or better and shuts down.

The game typically crashes to this error in the Hole zones and Cella.

I have played the game on this same hardware mostly without problem for the last few years, running on Vista prior to the Windows 7 release.

This crash is still happening so don't write it off. It happens in the same zones in the same spots pretty much everytime.

If you are already using the latest up-to-date drivers, I would suggest disabling SLI and letting me know if the issue persists.
