what, if anything, overwrites what during the actual fight?

Used to be several spells just overwrote the other, limiting damage to one or

the other but not both. I've forgotten what, and will eventually line them up at the target dummy and test, but thought to ask here for those who know.

There also have been rumors of a change on that issue over the years. Anyone know offhand?

I am fairly confident about the following info....if someone has tested first hand and learned otherwise please correct me

All our DoT spells should stack on mobs now. Storming Tempest and Hailstorm for example used to give issue but, I am pretty sure all our DPS spells are doubling okay.

Not sure about Ice Shield...it should stack though.

Frigid Gift proc does not over-write but it does not stack, you can only get 1 frigid gift (ice lash) proc per spell.

Our Hate Xfer/Power regen does not stack, and I am pretty certain our Ro's Blade proc doesn't double up if 2 are placed on someone. This is also the same with Warlocks and our class regarding these similar buffs.

Group buffs don't stack

Fiery Blast used to have issues but last time I had a wizard in my raid, the problem was resolved.

The damage portion of our debuff (icy spears) should stack but I am quite certain the debuff value does not stack.

Hope this helps some (hope its accurate too). I don't have a wizard in my raids nor have I had a secondary full-time one in..a long time.

Ice Spears if cast at exactly the wrong time will fail to cast with a "Would Not Apply" (or whatever the game says). But you can almost always cast it a second later, so I'm not sure it's simply a matter of "won't stack".

-Ken

I don't think it's possible for the other Wizard to have a 'better' Ice Spears than mine. (Unless there's an enhancement that I'm overlooking).

There are 2 AA's that enhance Icy Spears. I am not sure if those enhancements cause the game to view one as 'higher tier' or 'superior' but you could always look into that. One increases the DoT dmg component tick and the other increases the debuff amount.

2c
