<p>The problem:</p><p>Shader 1.0 orcs:</p><p><img src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm33/skeaser/EQ2/EQ2_000001.jpg" width="1024" height="640" /></p><p>Shader 3.0 orcs:</p><p><img src="http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm33/skeaser/EQ2/EQ2_000002.jpg" /></p><p><strong>Here's what I've got:</strong></p><p>i7 920 @ 2.67GHz</p><p>6.00 GB DDR3</p><p>Dual GTX 260 core 216 in SLi using driver 260.99</p><p>Win 7 x64 Ultimate</p><p><strong>Here's what I've tried:</strong></p><p>Full scan from Station Launcher > Same issue</p><p>Uninstall game from Station Launcher and reinstall > Same issue</p><p>Uninstall from Station Launcher and try the streaming client > Same issue</p><p>Anyone know how to get my orcs to quit being disco on shader 3.0?</p><p>Many thanks.</p>

<p>I have had the same issue.</p><p>When I first noticed it, it seemed to be distance related... like complex shader range radius (not saying that is it mind you), but after a period of time, distance doesn't seem to matter.</p><p>I've also noticed the new Vampire race does the same thing.. but only bright red instead of green.</p><p>Hope this helps in tracking solution.</p>

<p>As un update with shader 3.0 the Bruiser AQ armor makes my Frog slightly transparent.</p><p>I'm living with the bugs but thought I should put it out there.</p><p>Thanks for the input to those who posted.</p>

Shader 3 has had issues like this since it was implemented. I posted similar gfx bugs with Shader 3 on here probably 3 months ago and it went unaddressed and subsequently (minus player attempts at troubleshooting... ie: did you reinstall blahblahblah) ignored. SOE tech support simply isn't doing anything to work with the issues. if you choose to use Shader 3, you have to live with the bugs. otherwise, revert. But it's been far too long for issues like this to keep cropping up. so it's safe to say, don't hold your breath.</p>

<p>that looks awesome, looks like they could be radioactive they are so brightly colored.</p><p>on a more serious note it is many peoples opinion that they have stopped work on shader 3.0 and that it is just a lost cause now. my opinion is that SOE has finally got to the point they realize that EQ2 is not worth developing on anymore because of the obsolete technology it is based on and has shifted many of their resources to the upcoming EQNext.</p><p>also no one seems to know where the person that was developing the shader 3.0 went. their last logon date to the forum was 9/14/2010.</p><p>here is the thread. it is located in the test forums.</p><p><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=475005" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=475005</a></p>

<p>The shader 3.0 issues in the Frostfang Sea zone have been reported.  Unfortunately, information on when this would be fixed has not been released.  In the mean time please disable shader 3.0 while in this zone.</p>

<p>There are more graphics issues under sm 3.0 mode:</p><ul><li>Textures mismatch between sm 2.0 and sm 3.0 on armor items</li><li>neon green hair on some npcs in New Halas</li><li>orcs in zek with transclusent body textures</li><li>weird ice layers in frosfell zone</li></ul><p>The sm 3.0 package seems to be missing bits here and there. not gamebreaking, but annoying.</p>

<p>It seems to be intermittent between users.  Some can see certain textures just fine, others will see the same textures as green/missing, both having SM3. </p><p>In any case, this has been reported and is being looked in to.</p>
